The per capita stuff isn’t real world data attributable to mask wearing, at least not in this country. The data assumes infected people were around people with masks. Once Covid got a foothold it was going to spread. Mask wearing helped the individual but the population was screwed as long as infected people put themselves out in public. Mask wearing likely stemmed the tide but it was not going to push Covid down or eliminate it. Especially since a good portion of this country was too busy deciding whether Covid was a hoax or triggered by some perceived loss of freedom.

This is just not true people were and still are wearing masks like bank robbers. Some with ridiculous virtual signaling in the car while walking in the park etc. etc.
