My wife went to the doctor today for the second time in a week. The entire family suffered from severe allergies in the middle of July and we took OTC meds for that. Everyone got better except my wife. But she kept taking Musinex, trying to kick it.
She went to the doctor's office last week, saw the PA, and was told she had both ears on the verge of infection, but no sinus infection. The PA prescribed prednisone pills and decongestant pills. Wife didn't get any better and her cough had gotten much worse, so went back today and saw the doctor this time.
He said that her ears were still near infection, but her lungs were worse, she has bronchitis and on the verge of pneumonia. She got a big steroid shot, big antibiotic shot, a decongestant pill Rx and a liquid Decongestant with an expectorant Rx. Much stronger meds than last week.
No Covid, but not surprised. We usually have allergies from ragweed and other allergens in our area this time of year. Every damn year. September is really my bad month.
My wife asked the doctor if she had been diagnosed with Covid how would he treat it. He said that "naturally he would prescribe Ivermectin" and use plasma therapy. May use HCQ if in the early stages, but on a limited basis.
The doctor said the Ivermectin is excellent as a preventative as well as a treatment. "But you probably already have Ivermectin, don't you" (knowing that we have cattle, horses and dogs)
Then he went into the conversion of the Ivermectic dosage from animals to humans, using the Ivermectin liquid for injection that can be added to and taken with a juice, or the Ivermectin paste that can also be taken orally. He said it is the same active ingredient. It comes in multiple strengths, and to know the strength level and take in proportion to recommended levels for animals. Interestingly, he leaned toward taking the Ivermectin on a more frequent basis than we had been taking it as a preventative. He said do not increase the dosage, but the frequency.
He told my wife that he was fortunate to have only had one patient that passed due to Covid, but the individual had multiple underlying health issues, was obese, elderly, and came to him late. Did not say what types of treatment that patient received in the hospital.

But this was the conversation our doctor had with my wife today. Take it as you wish.

Fully can empathize with this. Have miserable ragweed allergies that attack my eyes and make it hard to function. Doing immunotherapy, which has had questionable results. Not looking forward to Sept or post Miss St and Alabama game fog and/or allergic conjunctivitis for days after. Likely exacerbated by a hangover

Another study showing natural immunity is much better than vaccines at stopping the delta variant. 13 times better if you caught covid this year. Interestingly, even if you had covid going all the way back to the start of the pandemic you still have 6 times better protection (this implies immunity is about more than just antibodies). Also better protection against symptomatic disease and hospitalization. It's time to stop with the bs mandates and follow the science. This is a 2.5 million person study from Israel.

Natural immunity is undeniable. It is very effective and this should create a new caveat to policy.
Instead of vaccine card or get tested every week you should be able to show proof of IgG in your serum to the COVID spike protein. Depending on when you were infected the IgM would probably have already class switched to IgG. This would prove better than any card that can be faked that you are immune. It would identify both vaxxed and previously infected individuals. If you just had to know the difference you could include IgG to the nucleoprotein or envelope protein of COVID. If that is positive you fall in the natural immunity category.
The thing about natural immunity that we all know about but has only been mentioned once in this thread (that I have noticed) is that unvaxxed infection can be a dangerous proposition. Many are lucky and gain that natural immunity with minimal symptoms but I'm pretty sure we are all aware that many are not that lucky. Many of us have lost those close to us. This is the push for vaccines.
This has been ignored throughout this entire ordeal. Thank you for finally acknowledging the bodies natural response to this thing is best for a great number of the population. I was forced to get the vaccine to make a living and I’m not happy about it but have to provide for my family. I have been around this thing from day 1 and never caught it but did everything to try. Perfectly healthy individuals under 45 should not be forced to get an experimental vaccine to provide for their families. Especially considering the amount of spread the vaccinated population is known to be a part of.
It's really not political, some percentage of people seem to have an innate fear of control/government/big business/etc and this leads them to distrust things. I did note that one manufacturer of Ivermectin paste stated "not for use in horses intended for human consumption" - notable for two reasons 1) There are horses intended for human consumption?? and 2) they don't think you should even eat the meat of an animal that used their ivermectin paste. That doesn't scream "but I can take it daily myself" to me.
I personally would not feel comfortable taking any medicine only approved for use in animals, even if the same active ingredient I'd still wonder about other ingredients and dosing. I've been to animal health production facilities and they aren't quite as clean and regulated as human pharma production facilities - not that it means the product is bad, but just not as much oversight with the animal products. They tend to not care about side effects in animals as much as humans, either.

This is the problem. This has been known to be an effective treatment and our medical community ignored it. How many people who were diagnosed with covid were told to go home until they felt so bad they needed to be hospitalized. That is a major failure that sent people looking for alternative. There should have been treatment protocols that are implemented the minute people were diagnosed but we didn’t do that. Instead our government has been trying to discredit any treatment other than an unproven vaccine as the only options. Before you say the vaccines are not unproven please see Israel and Oregon not to mention no one can say what the long term effects of these vaccines will have. We just don’t know.

here’s my story as of this morning. I’ve encouraged high risk family members to get vaxxed and to get boosters ASAP. They have. I have zero concerns for my children with regards to Covid. I have very little concern for me or the wife. I am opposed to taking the vaccine for myself because I’m not old and am in perfect physical health. I have heard enough anecdotal evidence for ivermectin to try it as a prophylactic. Started taking the paste a month ago. I fully assumed that at some point Covid is going to hit my household. This week it has. My wife and oldest tested positive Monday. My youngest tested positive this morning. My wife has been coughing since at least last Saturday and the doctor told her it was just a sinus infection, so we took no precautions (other than the ivermectin I’ve been taking). Wife and I got prescribed ivermectin pills Wednesday evening. I’ve tested negative everyday this week. I’ve had a mild cough, mild back pain, and mild headaches. But just won’t pop positive. I have zero proof but kind of have to assume the ivermectin is keeping my viral load below testable levels. Not sure how else to explain it. I’ve still been sleeping with and kissing my wife. We’ve shared food from the same plate. Either I’m super lucky, naturally resistant, or ivermectin works for some people.

Glad you haven't gotten sick but yeah I wouldn't just assume it's the Ivermectin. This shit is really weird and there are a lot of confounding factors. My sister in law got it last year and nobody in her household got it, including her husband who she interacted with normally until she found out she had it so he would have definitely been exposed. We work together in a small office and I didn't get it.
I haven't looked in a while but I remember there was some research suggesting that people who had antibodies from other coronaviruses had some resistance and immunity to COVID. This would make a lot of sense to my situation in that I have a lot of little kids who constantly catch stuff so when COVID hit I probably had antibodies from other previous crud that kept me from getting it all of last year.
Other weird shit, my toddler who is a stay at home kid got flu A and flu B (separate instances, not both at the same time) earlier this year and nobody else in the house did.
Just to clarify though, it drew interest vs. covid because studies have shown antiviral properties of ivermectin vs. common tropical viruses like dengue, Zika, and yellow fever. That was the foundation for the hypothesis it could be effective vs. covid.
As for the profit motivation, I'm just not seeing it. This is an absurdly cheap drug which is no longer patent protected (and hasn't been for some time) and everything I've seen has it at an extremely low profit margin. I suppose one could argue they're going to "make up for it on volume" but that's a pretty thin argument.
