Monday Portal update(s) (latest at 8:50 p.m.)

I'll update this throughout the day.

Kam Dewberry is the latest Aggie in.
UAB QB Jacob Zeno is on campus today. He would be a 7th year senior next year.
UGA CB Julian Humphrey is visiting Friday. He has been on campus enough that I'm not sure what's new.
A&M has already reached out to WRs Micah Hudson (Tceh) and KC Concepcion (NC State) and both are expected to visit. I have both on the target list on the Portal Tracker.
A&M has offered Western Kentucky DE Deante McCray, who had 53 tackles, 3 TFL and 2.5 sacks this season. He would be a junior next season.

If you want updates from other programs, let me know.

4:10 update: The visits are getting serious. Micah Hudson will be on campus today and tomorrow, KC Concepcion will be in tomorrow and Wednesday, and Florida DE Kelby Collins will be in tomorrow and Wednesday.

4;28 update: TJ Shanahan is going in the portal. That's your first wow.

4:55 update: A&M has commenced pursuit of CB Jaylon Braxton, who was CB1 for Arkansas coming into the season but was hurt in week 2 and missed the rest of the year. He would be a redshirt sophomore.

8:50 update: I said Friday that the Aggies would probably take a look at Will Heldt, the DE who replaced Nic Scourton at Purdue. Heldt has set up a visit to A&M.

Messin' around with AI (WTF related)

I am REALLY testing GPT these days with data analysis and random wacky stuff just to see how she responds, but this one might be out of pocket.

I asked her to create a campus tour of Texas A&M University from 1995, complete with campus landmarks and traditions. She seems to have used the sip campus for most of the campus shots, and for some reason included spanish moss on the trees.

That Bonfire footage, though...eh, what?

We have no business using this technology, Ags.

Twelve Baseball Youth Raffle(160 guns, 11 hunting trips, etc)

Many of you have generously bought tickets in the past and I know at least three people who have won items with tickets purchased for Brooks. Last year, a friend won a dove trip to Argentina!

This year, we’ve made the option to allocate funds to the general scholarship fund which helps players who couldn’t otherwise afford to play select baseball. This is a great organization doing things the right way, counting Jace LaViollete and Spencer Arrighetti among its alums.

WR name in the portal - any idea if we'd have interest?

Chase Sowell.

He's from Atascocita and played with Kam Dewberry and Samu. 6'4" 200'ish and runs a sub-4.4. Reminds me of Josh Reynolds in that he's a wiry build but strong and long strider with the ability to get downfield and high-point the ball.

34 catches for 678 yards (19.9ypc) and 3 TDs for East Carolina.

I know the family pretty well. Dad played baseball for Florida and his mother was an All American soccer player for the Gators too.

Eligibility question

Something in another thread made me think of this and I figured I would ask on a separate thread to get an answer.

In one of the conference championship games Saturday night, a player was mentioned as having played the first four games of the season, then the decision was made to redshirt him, but he was playing in the conference championship since post season games do not count towards redshirt eligibility.

One thing I have learned is that most announcers don’t know what they are talking about, but this sounded feasible. Is it true that post season games do not count? If so, that’s one of the few good rules we have in place.
