Not over yet - Covid

Pretty sure a lack of empathy for people who don't see the world the way you do is not a hallmark of being an adult.
It is not about seeing the world differently. It is about personal responsibility. I agree with each person making their own choice, but that necessitates taking responsibility for that right. I dont think those not taking the shot should be made the villan however, they should shoulder the burdens of that choice. ALL choices have consequences.

Frontline Doctors are the ones I trust.

These guys are recommending Ivermectin and Hyroxychloriquin as a proactive way to stop Covid. COVID IS TREATABLE if caught early. Why are Big tech and Government scrubbing all papers outlining options for people to take medications to cure the disease once diagnosed (if caught early)? Instead, the only option our government advises is to send someone home and wait for two weeks until you either fight it, hospitalized by it, or die from it while spending all efforts on vaccines only. Not a single course of action was given to me after I was diagnosed except to go home and quarantine. NOTHING else. And that is apparently the standard of care offered by the government.

This is NOT a tin hat conspiracy theory. There ARE ways outside of a vaccine to treat Covid and reach herd immunity (which we've already met). Why are the government and big tech blocking information? You want some proof. Here you go:

I've got a lot more to say about the MRA vaccine is a message that targets a spike protein that we know causes problems (spike proteins are virulous factors to the virus and why some people have issues with vaccine). Happy to have that debate on another thread.

Thanks for the links.

You started this thread from your cold symptoms. Good job, Ag.

Ya do know that people that are fully vaccinated get covid? Also those that are fully vaccinated that get covid can still die from covid. Those that are fully vaccinated and get covid die from covid at a higher percentage rate than those that are not vaccinated.
This is a complete lie. Through the first 100 million vaccainated, zero deaths from patients who had contracted covid but were fully vaccinated with Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. It is true that you can still contract covid… duh, it’s 90-95% effective. But like the flu vaccine, if you are vaccinated, you can still contract the flu and if you do, you generally recover faster. I caught flu B in Feb. 2020 4 months after being vaccinated, and while I felt horrible, within 3 days I was fully recovered. Who knows how that goes if I hadn’t been vaccinated?

@clayber stop talking about stuff you obviously know nothing about. I’ve worked for a vaccine manufacturer for over 20 years, so I’m pretty well educated about this.

I will also say, the church we attended before covid just returned from summer camp with 125 cases of covid among campers and adults. They had to cancel church services yesterday, it will be interesting to see how the local school district handles this with school starting back mid August. Hopefully there is not an over reaction - school is supposed to start without a mask mandate, which is very welcomed!

I don’t know if it was in the first 100 million but this CDC data as of May 28, 2021 cited 160 known deaths from covid among those fully vaccinated.

Yes, but 99..4% of the people vaccinated will NOT GET the virus. So yes, that .6% is either unlucky or have comorbidities.

just get the freaking shot or drop it when you get it.

It will only take you a little effort to educate yourself on the numbers of those that have died from covid after being fully vaccinated. CDC calls people that have been fully vaccinated and get covid breakthrough cases. They are not even tracking breakthrough cases unless they get hospitalized or they die. The information is out there you will need to read the complete report, not just the headline.

You’ve said this before and it wasn’t true then either.

The NC State players who were ruled out of the College World Series will offer a different thought on the matter since they were vaccinated.

Vaccination does NOT provide full immunity. It provides up to 90% based on the manufacturers own studies which are probably BS

Guess what is higher than that percentage? The survival rate of covid. Taking out comorbidities, it is even smaller. The delta while more virulent is less lethal than the previous versions. This is basic epidemiology. Viruses mutate to be spread more and kill less.

Well it’s not that simple. We need everyone to get vaccinated because the more people who don’t will continue to get Covid. The longer Covid stays around the more mutations. The more mutations the more likely a strain develops that the vaccine doesn’t cover. So it’s in our greatest interest to promote vaccinations. It’s time to stop with the vaccination denial. it’s bad for the health of our nation and simply unsafe and frankly selfish. Politics should not be part of the discussion.

It is in "someone's" interest to promote the vaccines. Certainly not mine. The decision to make this political was made by a certain party who keeps pushing the vaccines. Wait until the yearly boosters. Welcome to 1984 - the book and not the year.

Jesus the virtue signaling and self righteousness is oozing through this thread. It’s as if the vaccine cheerleaders have been waiting to pounce on someone for something. The best they got was a good guy who felt a little rough and decided to take himself out of the equation and deal with it as the world should have and they pounce as if they’ve won some moral victory. This is the world we live in. The bitches of the world have something they are going to crow about and they will crow as if they’re saving the world. It’s nauseating
Sounds like you’re bitching. I will place you in the appropriate category.

Vaccinated - not stuck in my room, no fever, no headache, no loss of taste and smell. Have fun with all that

I'm glad you did what you think is right for your situation. This isn't a "my choice is better than your choice" debate. I honestly respect that decision and hope that you don't find any long-term side effects. If anybody tells you there is no chance of side effects are lying to you. Maybe yes, maybe no - you're just rolling the dice.

I hope you can respect my decision as well.

Yes crazy to push vaccines. I suppose you want:

small pox
Measles
mumps
Rubella
HPV
Polio
Chicken pox
Etc.

All of them are political propaganda?

Did you March on the capital on Jan. 6th or just a supporter? The department of homeland security is interested.

Yes. Because we all know covid is the equivalent of small pox and polio. And for the record I caught chicken pox the old fashion way and that seems to have worked

Wow. Let me just say this about the January 6th riots. If they had been Antifa or BLM folks, the capitol would have been burned, looted and destroyed. The folks at the capitol were peaceful protesters compared to what BLM and Antifa have done to Minneapolis, Chicago, Portland, etc. Let that sink in and understand the dichotomy of the world we live in. Do I excuse them? No, they should have known better and should be prosecuted. Why is it that several hundred January 6th people have been charged while most of the Antifa and BLM rioters have not? Let me give you a hint - politics. Just like the vaccines were made political by the SAME people.

For some good reading - The "Deprogramming" Begins: Public Defender Representing January 6th Defendants "Re-Educates" Them

In regards to vaccines, I am just pointing out that there is NO MONEY in Ivermectin or HCQ. There was billions of dollars funneled into vaccine makers whose entire business is built on NOT CURING YOU. Their business is in treating the symptoms to keep a long term customer. Maybe that is a jaded outlook, but it is sadly the truth.

The fact that you resorted to this type of attack shows the weakness of your critical thinking which is sadly also a pandemic in this country.

I was wondering when people would die from other things. Covid almost cured heart attacks and cancer.

If it such a great cure why didn’t they give it to Donald Trump? He was hospitalized and not given a horse dewormer. My friend who died of Covid was also not given this miracle cure…I wonder why? At least you won’t get worms! I’d double mask it and socially distance if I were you just in case you are wrong. In the meantime please quit posting these conspiracy theories.
Short-sided and ignorant take. Calling it a”horse dewormer” doesn’t make it any less effective. My Dr. prescribed it and it worked as have countless other MDs. You guys are so predictable. If YOU don’t agree with it it’s “a conspiracy”. It’s a tired, stale and childish response. But it makes you FEEL better so that’s all that matters. Grow up.

Took the vaccine but I would absolutely slam an anti-parasite if I caught bad sympstoms.

A man I work with almost died after receiving anti venom as a result of a rattlesnake bite on the hand. The surgeons were set to take off his arm. A veterinarian friend of his went to the hospital with some sort of ointment. Doctors were shocked at his recovery. Saved his arm, maybe his life.
Many days later my friend told the doctors what they had done, sneaking in the cream. Doctor said he could never have mentioned a treatment like that..... This goes so many directions... don’t trust everything you are told.

Here’s some of the latest findings on ivermectin. This is from the may/june issue of the American journal of therapeutics. In addition to being an anti parasitic, it also has shown anti viral and anti inflammatory characteristics and has proven helpful in a number of illnesses. Keep in mind, this is on the WHO essential medicines list and the developers won a Nobel peace prize for its discovery. Calling it a cattle dewormer is just foolish, even though that’s one of its primary uses.

Meta-analyses based on 18 randomized controlled treatment trials of ivermectin in COVID-19 have found large, statistically significant reductions in mortality, time to clinical recovery, and time to viral clearance. Furthermore, results from numerous controlled prophylaxis trials report significantly reduced risks of contracting COVID-19 with the regular use of ivermectin. Finally, the many examples of ivermectin distribution campaigns leading to rapid population-wide decreases in morbidity and mortality indicate that an oral agent effective in all phases of COVID-19 has been identified.

Please don't bring science into this discussion. Trust the science only means to trust what Lord Fauci says regardless to his ties to the Wuhan lab and gain of function research that was done there with taxpayer funds.

All Hail Lord Fauci! Savior of the world! amiright?

Fully aware that you can still get it. That’s not the bullshit. It’s the “people being vaccinated die at a greater rate - go find the info yourself” nonsense that he pulls out of his ass that’s complete bullshit.

They weren’t sick. The vaccine doesn’t prevent exposure. It prevents you from sickness, though.

Looks like those on the baseball team got exposed and didn’t get sick because the vaccine worked as expected.

Israel just reported that the Pfizer vaccine is only 64% effective at preventing both infection and symptomatic disease

On the other hand, it did prevent hospitalizations and serious illness at 93% rate although I am not sure how they calculated that drop. i.e. is that a drop from the highest point of hospitalization or comparing hospitalizations of vaccinated vs unvaccinated. For the record, the US is at 0.59 hospitalizations per 100k down from 4.91 in January 2021 per the CDC

Since I had covid in February, I won't get the vaccine until I see how effective my natural immunity is vs the vaccine, but I am not sure if they are even reporting those numbers because it would be counter to the vaccine narrative currently being pushed by the media, government, celebrities, etc.

We’d all still be stuck at home if not for those stepping up and getting the vaccine. You didn’t have a choice with smallpox and several others vaccines. I guess 4M dead isn’t enough. I can only hope those in healthcare had the choice to not treat you or the millions of other patients that were selfish and narrow minded.

To be fair, comparing this vaccine to smallpox, measles, TDAP, et al is disingenuous. Those vaccines took decades to develop and have 50+ years of results showing their efficacy. FDA approval alone took years, and they are all using active viral cultures. The mRNA vaccines are a new technology, emulating an active virus, and have only been tested for a few months before going live.

People hesitant to take it have logical reasons, dismissing them is naive and divisive. If they weren't legitimate, then we should argue against the point instead of making false equivalencies. It's hard to do when those concerns are legitimate and we have no answers, and won't for years. This is coming from someone who HAD COVID and got the Pfizer.

The mortality rate on smallpox, measles, etc. is also substantially higher than covid.

The most common strain of smallpox had about a 30% mortality rate before the vaccine was developed and a couple less common strains had mortality rates approaching 100%. Before the vaccine, measles had a fatality rate of about 12% for kids under 5 and like 25% for babies under 9-months old. Polio had a fatality rate of about 5% in kids and up to 30% in adults and if you survived you were practically guaranteed to be severely handicapped (see FDR).

Those figures change the risk calculation dramatically.

BUT THIS IS NOT ON THE MAINSTREAM NEWS MEDIAS APPROVED MEDICINES OR TOPICS SO IT MUST BE BAD!!!!

BTW I took the vaccine because I weighed the risk/reward factors and decided at my age 50 it was better to do it. I also understand there could be harmful side effects like any vaccine. My wife and I took the vaccine but our children will not because they are young and healthy teenagers and more studies keep coming out on possible harmful effects for young people
