I’ll be hunting ducks and geese this weekend.

My first weekend spent hunting this fall. And my first time hunting waterfowl. I am hunting with a friend who has done it before. He trains dogs for a living. He is taking a yellow lab to retrieve. I’m looking forward to seeing the dog do its thing.

I am relying on him to show me the ropes. I have hunted dove for over 30 years. I have some bird hunting experience.

Anything I should know?

The End

1, Amateur only football players on a D1 university football team (Clemson finally caves in to NIL) . All others, with possible exception of the military academies, will be populated by mercenaries.
2.ACC as a major D1 football conference. Both Clemson and SMU crapped the bed in the playoffs - not even close to being qualified to compete as a top seed.

New Year Thoughts

I am pissed about how we ended the year. BUT...

-Reed was a freshman. QBs get better over time, objectively. And he has the raw tools to be a superstar.
-Our WRs this year got zero separation. Next year, we're getting a massive talent upgrade at receiver. Even if Reed doesn't show major improvement, our offense will be better because we have WRs who actually get open and make plays in space for him.
-Moss might be the best RB in college football next year. Straight up.
-Our defense will be better. Elko has consistently fielded top defenses everywhere he's been. I know he's far from perfect and Bateman needs to go... But there's no world where our D doesn't show significant improvement.

A lot of y'all are acting like we had an NC caliber team this year from a talent perspective. We just didn't.

I'm not sure if Elko is the guy or not long-term, but I think there are reasons to be hopeful heading into next year.

If we don't show significant improvement in our offensive performance and weekly preparation in year 2...

Then I'll be ready to go full @BADASH.

Happy New Year's boys (and Tabi)!

Wishing everyone an abundant, love-filled 2025.

Dan Campbell, Zac Taylor, and Sarah Taylor

As I'm watching the Lions and Dan Campbell take on the 49'ers in the NFC Championship rematch, I looked up how Dan got into coaching.

He called up Mike Sherman, our HC at the time and told him he thought he wanted to get into coaching and if he could come to Spring ball at A&M. Just see what it entailed from the coaching perspective. Sherman said sure, come on down. Dan showed up and is introduced to Zac Taylor, A&M's TE coach. Zac was younger and hadn't coached tight ends, so having Dan around for a few weeks helped with some of the basics of playing the position. Dan said he knew pretty quick that Zac was a pretty damned good coach.

Zac for those that don't remember is the Cincinnati Bengals head coach. Zac is married to Sarah Sherman Taylor, Mike's daughter.

I love me some Dan Campbell (and Aaron Glenn). That is all. At ease, carry on...
