Football Texas A&M Banquet/Awards - press release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Aggies Hold 2022 Football Banquet

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas --
Senior tight end Max Wright, who continuously led by example and came to work every day with a team-first mentality, was the recipient of the 2022 Aggie Heart Award, the highest honor for a Texas A&M senior football player. The award was presented at the annual Texas A&M football banquet, held Sunday at the Ford Hall of Champions inside Kyle Field to honor the 2022 Aggie football team.

The Heart Award is presented to a senior who has completed his eligibility and displays the intangibles such as effort, desire, determination, competitiveness, accountability, leadership and courage. The Aggie Heart Award winner is the player who extends himself to the fullest every time he dons his football gear, regardless of the situation, be it in practice or a game. The Heart Award is voted upon by the players of the football team.

"Max brings a great attitude every day and has played the game with a lot of passion and toughness," head football coach Jimbo Fisher said. "He has given everything he has to this program and our football team. I am proud of the young man he has become and his growth both on and off of the field."

Wright played in 40 games throughout his career after coming to Aggieland as a defensive lineman but eventually transitioning to tight end ahead of his sophomore season. He has tallied 13 receptions for 194 yards and caught a pair of touchdown passes during his final three seasons on offense, while also serving as a consistent contributor on special teams.

Some new music talk since the 2022 great albums discussions are nearing...

For those into folk type/Americana music - The Michigan Rattlers. Really smart interesting lyrics and great melodies. Pretty new with a lot of good songs on only 2 albums released thus far. They have another on the way in 2023. Evergreen and The Storm are the songs starting to get increasing play on Spotify. Give em a listen if you like this genre of music. The Storm video just has a relatable vibe.

Addiction

Well I found out a few days ago that a very close child hood friend of mine overdosed on Fentanyl Monday evening. Apparently it was laced with the Heroin he had been addicted to the past 10 years of his life. He just turned 31 years old back in August and has now been on a ventilator since Monday night. He has been ruled completely “brain dead” as they have found no activity in his brain the past two days doing all their tests. Since he is in fact an organ donor his parents now have to wait the process out over the weekend while they transfer him to another hospital to retrieve his organs before they eventually pull the plug on him. He leaves behind two daughters less than 10 years of age that his parents had to eventually adopt 3 years ago bc the state was gonna take them away from their parents and put them in foster care. They weren’t gonna let that happen…. So now they have to bury their son and explain to their adopted daughters/grand daughters about why their biological “daddy” doesn’t come around anymore. Addiction is extremely selfish especially when you have people and children that rely on you, that should be MORE than enough to get your shit together right there! But I guess not everybody is wired the same. Some people are just selfish and don’t give a shit about anybody else but themselves and I don’t feel sorry for them one bit while they continue to do the selfish acts as their loved ones watch from the side and suffer from it on a daily basis. It’s bullshit and extremely sad and tragic for everyone involved. That’s all I have to say I guess, my buddy’s family can def use some prayers tonight, be thankful your kids are on the right path and pray they steer clear away from the temptation Satan can put in front of them at any given moment.

I cannot believe that no one has complimented...

Our @courtneyfaye on how stunning she looks in the holiday shot for the F Word Podcast. One answer could be that I'm the only one that gets the feed, but somehow, that seems unlikely. We're fortunate to have her riding herd on the social media elements of this forum, and there is never, ever anything wrong with girls with guns. Thank you Courtney! I think I feel safe in speaking for all of us in that we appreciate you and your work very much. Gig 'em!
