1. 31 point victory margin. Largest in A&M history against a Top 10 team. What an ass kicking.
2. Connor Weigman 18/22 for 276. ESPN says it was Moss who led the Aggies to the win, but Weigman's completing 82% of his passes is what opened it up for Moss. Weigman also rushed for 33 yards, but timing was killer as they were often for key first downs.
3. Le'Vion Moss 12 carries for 135 yards with three TDs including a soul crushing 75 yard gallop on the first play of the second half. There was no doubt it would be a rout after that.
4. Brady Cook 13/31 for 186 yards. Holding the Mizoo QB to just 42% for passing completions made it impossible for them to find any rhythm in offense or convert third downs.
5. On a related note, six sacks. SIX! 8 TFLs. One reason Cook could not complete passes was because he was running for his life on every freaking drop back.
6. Missouri rushing 30 rushes for 68 yards. Unable to rely on their passing game Missouri had no rushing game at all. Nate Noel had ten rushes for only 30 yards, and half of those were on one play.
7. Mizzo only 5-15 on 3rd down, and only 1-4 on 4th down. Even that one 4th down conversion didn't count for much. It set them up with first and goal on the one, an A&M defense playing for pride made them settle for an "oh that's so pathetic" field goal on effectively the last play of the game. By contrast the Aggies were 7-12 on third down.
8. Total yards, 512 to 254. We better than doubled them up on total yards.
Comments: In the face of my cynicism Connor Weigman shut me up today with a tremendous performance unleashing a well balanced and fully faceted Aggie offense. That combined with a stifling quarterback chasing and run stuffing defense created a truly attention gathering win that will send A&M shooting up the rankings and back into playoff discussion.
