KV Wine guys

KV has an interesting one today.

If you like Zinfandel, I have found the best quality for price comes from the Puglia region of Italy. Specifically the Salento peninsula which is the boot heel of Italy on the map.

Primitivo is the Zinfandel grape and the warm climate and Adriatic cool breezes produces fantastic wine. And they are almost always at a great price.

Capo Zafferano is worth a try at $25.

Would you watch? Caitlin Clark vs Cooper DeJean.

Basketball, not s*x

Not gonna lie. I would dedinitely be interested in watching the beat down DeJean would administer.

Before the NFL Draft, DeJean said he could likely beat Clark one-on-one if the two ever met on the basketball court. DeJean was a standout high school basketball player in Iowa but chose to go the football route over the sport, and it eventually landed him in the NFL.

“She took a shot back at me after she texted me, and she said didn’t think that I could beat her. I’ll let her say that, but yeah, I mean, I think it’d be fun though if we got to play each other."

As a senior basketball star at OABCIG, DeJean put up 25.9 points, 7.9 boards and 7.1 assists per game. A truckload of his points came off his ability to anticipate and get his hands on a ball from just about any angle — a lot of run-outs and a lot of (pretty awesome) dunks.

TSA Pre Check

I don't fly a ton but enough that I think it may be worth doing. Just wanted to hear from those that have it. Is it worth it? Also, we are flying to Destin in July and have already bought the airline tickets. If I apply now and am accepted, can it be applied to tickets already purchased or do you have to be active when the tickets are purchased? Thanks.

Plum Grove north of Houston,,,,,migrant development

Morning......not trying to go political here but has anyone heard of this......just saw an video on this

Apparently a developer with 'thousands' of acres has marketed in Spanish to migrants a no income required opportunity to buy 1/4 acre to 3/4 acre lots with utilities (at a high interest rate >9%). The person, family, or migrant, whatever you want to say, can build what they want there with no deed restrictions or building codes. This is north of Houston at a place called Plum Grove or Colony Ridge. ICE is staying away and there is a lack of law enforcement. DPS is saying cartels are already present in the area. This has been going on for some time but apparently it is starting to grow.

We have problems with colonias all over this state. The state has refused to step in to require sanitary conditions and safe water. We have an area in east Denton near the lack just outside the city limits (and the city does not want to take them in) where people build what they want without any restrictions. Some people live in shanties, some in barns like you buy at Lowes, some in buses, etc. on small lots. Needed to go down there to see a student and family only to quickly realize it was not safe to drive in there much less try to find these people. People living there did not like seeing an unfamiliar truck. School officer told me I should not have gone into there. It is right next to the Baptist Camp.

How does the county and state allow this to happen?

Climate Change

Doug Dechert, former gossip columinist and the event’s host, interjected: “The climate hoax!” The enraged yell prompted writer Anthony Haden-Guest to call the host a “miserable blob,” and ask him to “Shut up!” The pair have known each other for 30 years, the publication reported.

As Mr Dechert screamed about the climate change “scam” and Mr Haden-Guest, in turn, called him “f***ing insane” and “insignificant,” the presidential hopeful calmly observed the situation, the outlet reported.

The entire exchange came to an explosive end when Mr Dechert announced: “I’m farting!” followed by a loud noise that suggested he wasn’t lying.

Kind of a humble brag, but mostly requests for T&P and/or good vibes...

...whichever you put stock into for our oldest son.

Torn ACL and surgery set for June 3rd. He's missing summer baseball, S&C, and freshman football in the fall. Should be back to 100% by late November. Of course he's extremely disappointed but he's got a great attitude and ready to work to get back.

But the craziest thing is the doctor confirmed that what we thought was a sprained knee in football in August 2023 was actually when he tore his ACL and this recent injury on May 4th just aggravated it. So this kid must be tough as nails because he’s played football and baseball on a torn ACL for the last 9 months. And been outstanding.

Kid works his ass off and has reached a point where if he stays healthy and continues to develop as he should he's going to be a legit D1 recruit in both football & baseball. At 13 he's 6'0" 170# and can run. On the bump he's already touching 80mph regularly and can hit too. On the football field he's a TE/DE who should be 6'4"-6'5" by his senior year. Maybe not a P5-level recruit but definitely G5-level.

Anyway, wanted to brag on him for being so tough to play with a torn ACL for 9 months and ask for the support.

Baseball vs Arkansas Tickets

Looking to take the family (5 of us) to the Friday and / or Saturday game against Arkansas this weekend. If anyone has any tickets to get rid of please let me know. I don’t necessarily need 5 as long as I can get the boys in that would be great. We plan to go early to try and get tickets before the game but I’d like for that to be Plan B if possible. Thanks for the help.

Spoke With Mike Norvell

Had a chance to speak with FSU head coach Mike Norvell for a few minutes.

Just asked him a few questions about last year and tried to see if he would say anything on which conference FSU might find themselves in moving forward?

I did slip one in for you guys…. I asked him what he thought of Mike Elko and what did he think he could do at A&M?…. Without hesitation he said what do I think he will do at A&M???

“He’ll do damage at A&M”…”He’ll do damage.”

He asked me if I saw what Duke did to Florida State last year with Duke talent?

He said wait until he starts coaching the talent in Texas….
