For those who have been to Gainesville before…

This is our yearly “guys weekend” trip. Never been to Gainesville before. We’re flying into Jacksonville and will get a rental and drive over. So we can be mobile.

We will hit the home teams version of Northgate one evening. Any specific bars to go to?

We fly on Thursday and will have the day on Friday to do whatever. Anything AY would recommend?

What's a great restaurant in town. We normally hit one "upscale" place each trip. Any suggestions?

It's early in the season and this trip snuck up on us a bit. We don't have any definite plans outside of the game. Let me know if there was a great stop you made in years past.

Question for Aggie Veterinarians

Any Vets on AggieYell who have experience with canine carcinoma?
Our son's dog was diagnosed with this disease in one of the dog's nostrils. He is going to proceed with radiation therapy regardless of the cost to extend the dog's life. Would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions you might have. e.g., chemotherapy.
He lives in Colorado, not all that far from BCS if the Vet School presents some opportunities

Elko press conference comments

Said the team handled McNeese in a "professional way" and got it out of hand early.
Says Moss "made the strides we wanted to" and thinks he'll continue to improve this season.
Likes what Rylan Kennedy is doing on the pass rush side.
Says UF has two very talented QBs with very different skill sets, so they'll have to prepare for both.
Calls Eugene Wilson one of the best receivers in the conference and that their receivers are the best A&M has played so far.
Says their defensive line is very talented, and that it's definitely an SEC defense.

Says there are a lot of things where you can say for sure that A&M improved week to week, McNeese or not.
Calls the run defense "terrible...it's not what you want." Says the first team handled the run last week, but 185 to McNeese is still a problem.
Started preparing the team for road games back in the spring.
When it comes to prepping for Lagway, they're looking at high school film as well as what he's done in the first two games.
Says Amari Daniels has always been a good ballcarrier, but has been challenged to improve other areas including pass blocking -- which he did well this past weekend. "It gives us confidence to put him out there every down, not just when you want to give him the ball."

Asked about Jimbo's idea of leaving Thursday, he said, "I don't have any thoughts on that. We'll leave on Friday."

Says TJ Shanahan was suspended immediately, pending internal review.
Says Jabre Barber is still a couple weeks away from being 100%, with the goal being the Arkansas game.
Very complimentary of Terry Bussey's decision making on punt returns, that he's making mature decisions.
Thinks that some of the problems with the run defense is still getting acclimated to the scheme, but won't point the finger at anyone. Says it's a full defense issue.
Says he's been happier with the pass rush than the stats would lead you to believe. Says they got pressure on Leonard and Sixkiller. "We're pressuring the quarterback. The sacks will come. The run fits and the run structure is what we have to work on."

A few notes:
I've never seen a lineman score as high as Bisontis.
The starting defensive linemen didn't play more than 16 snaps. Scourton played 14. Turner and Howell played 10. Stewart played 15. They weren't pulling guys in the first half, they were pulling them in the first quarter.
