Recruiting recruiting roundup - VISITOR LIST w/a BREAK DOWN of RECRUITS STATUS/RECRUITMENT/WHERE THINGS STAND

Texas A&M commits attending the Saturday night rivalry game at Kyle Field between the Aggies and Lsu are:
- Katy Paetow 2023 five-star DL David (DJ) Hicks Jr.
*****Hicks made a return trip to Oregon a few weeks ago; he made a return trip to Norman for Oklahoma's win over Oklahoma State; both schools feel like the visits went well; Hicks will not be an early enrollee, according to a source; National outlets/media/opinions believe Oklahoma is going to be the team, and the fact that A&M was the school he committed to was a surprise- Hicks did a Q&A with AY this week and here is a clip:
(David Hicks Jr) My thought on the program...they can only go up. I really feel like there will be some coaches shifted and changed around. Players have bought in to what Coach Fisher is doing.
(courtneyfaye) What does it say to you that A&M has played so many freshmen this year?
(David Hicks Jr) Its cool, because next year they will have a lot of experience. Which means when I come in I will be practicing against dudes who can teach me a lot and have played in the SEC. '
(courtneyfaye) When other schools call or reach out do you entertain the idea of another program?
(David Hicks Jr) No. (said without hesitation and sternly)
- Katy Paetow 2023 four-star ILB Daymion Sanford
****Sanford committed to the Aggies June 27, 2022. Fast foward to the present and since the start of this month (Nov.) Sanford has received two offers from Oregon and Oklahoma, and has unofficially visited Oregon.
-Lagrange 2023 4-star CB Bravion Rogers
****committed to A&M September 6, 2022; was previously committed to the Aggies from April 12, 2022 - to - August 8, 2022. Since Anthony Hill’s announcement to decommit, Rogers, Colton Thomasson and
TJ Shanahan Jr. have all voiced their support for the program and reaffirmed their intentions to remain in the class. Just having those three lead the way toward signing day will help Jimbo Fisher and his staff exponentially…per Rivals. Rogers is a hard A&M commit.
- Katy Tompkins 2024 3-star OT Ashton Funk
***
Funk committed to A&M November 6, 2022; This season Funk has received offers from the likes of Florida, Florida State, Louisville and Auburn. Funk is an A&M hard commit.
- Smithsonian Valley 2023 4-star OT Colton Thomasson
****Thomasson is one of three core commits who has voiced his solid commitment to the Aggies. He is a hard commit.
- Shiner, TX, 2023 4-star ATH Dalton Brooks
****committed July 2022; sources say nothing to worry about here - hard A&M commit.
- Southlake Carrol 2023 3-star punter Tyler White
***committed April 11, 2022; took his A&M official visit June 17, 2022. In March both Texas and Miami offered White, but he is definitely solid to the Aggies.
- Atascocita 2023 3-star DT Samu Taumanupepe
***committed August 1, 2022; solid Aggie commit
Login to view embedded media - Longview Pine Tree 2024 3-star DE Dealyn Evans
***committed July 31, 2022; the Aggies locked Evans in early. He did visit Texas, but the Aggies have nothing to worry about there.
- Philadelphia Northeast 2023 3-star OT Naquil Betrand
***committed August 6, 2022; he decommitted from the Colorado Buffaloes on July 4, 2022. Betrand is a solid Aggie commit.

-Nashville, TN, 2023 Montgomery Bell Academy QB and Ole Miss commit 3-star Marcel Reed
***unofficial visit; Reed is one of the more intriguing quarterbacks in this class because he’s not a finished product as a dual-threat quarterback. But he’s such an incredible weapon because he can throw it from the pocket, he’s very comfortable throwing on the run and he’s putting up big numbers in the run game as well this season.
-Smithson Valley 2023 LB Gavin Woods
*Woods was at the A&M June camp; has four offers in Army, Navy, Sam Houston, Texas A&M Commerce
-Lumberton 2024 three-star OLB Brock Jackson
***Does not hold an Aggie offer; offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Central Michigan, Colorado, Missouri, North Texas, Texas Tech, UTSA and Cornell
-Silsbee 2024 4-star WR Drelon Miller
****Has an Aggie offer as well as offers such as Auburn, Baylor, Duke, Georgia, Mississippi State, Texas, Oklahoma, TCU and USC. One of the best receivers in the 2024 class is Miller, who’s having a phenomenal junior season with 46 catches for 1,131 yards and 16 touchdowns, and he was at LSU for its win over Alabama a couple weekends ago.
-Silsbee 2024 Jonah Brown

SEC Refs are absolute trash

Happy to see kiffin and ole miss get screwed, but that was terrible officiating. The context: ole miss throws a passed that’s ruled backwards, but one of the officials blows it dead as he thought it was incomplete. Receiver is standing over the ball, but doesn’t try to recover it as it was blown dead.

They initially announced that the play wouldn’t count do to an inadvertent whistle, but then it went to review and they overturned it and gave MSU the ball.

The receiver could have easily fallen on the ball, but didn’t because the whistle had already blown. These officials are clowns, including the head office. With so much money coming in, it’s time for full time officials and greater accountability.

Game Highlights

I was somewhat lucky I suppose. I started watching Aggie football in 1984. The team was mediocre but soon after the gridiron god moved a magical switch from losing to winning and a golden era was ushered in. There were many games in those seasons that compelled me to remember the glory of the individual performances before I went to bed. Perhaps the players were Ray Childress, Rodney Thomas, or Dat Ngyun. The world was a good place and there was a sense of reverie. Aggie football was good for the soul.

There were intimations from last night's game of that bygone golden era. It is the only game of that distinction this season. I thought about the game after its conclusion to include outstanding plays that will be stored in my long-term memory. Last night the world became a better place. It rekindled my passion for football to a good extent, and I replayed the game in my mind which I relished.

Unfortunately, the season fell apart because the intersection of the young team and the obstinate coaches led to poor to average performances except last night's game. The team was all over the board throughout the season.

Boerne Thoughts

We are looking to move their from Houston (Heights area). Any thoughts from folks familiar with the area?

We think the pros would be conservative community, a lot of land, still close to amenities (neighborhood we are looking at), quiet, hill country is nice, town festivals, 30 min from the airport.

Possible negatives: Private well for water (should we worry about it running dry?), scorpions. Really can’t think of anything else.
