Bowl Season betting thread

The transfer portal has made these Bowl Games very difficult when it comes to betting. Has to give the oddsmakers heartburn.

In any case, let's look at the games today:

Ohio (-6.5, OU 58) vs Jacksonville St. - Head coaches left for both teams, but I like Jacksonville's offense. Taking them on the ML.
Florida (-10, OU 49.5) vs. Tulane - Taking Florida to cover and hitting the over.
Notre Dame (-6.5, OU 52) vs. Indiana - Not sure on this one yet.

Thursday portal update

The Aggies are now working on getting visits set for two new receiver targets. Miami's Isaiah Orton, who had 56 catches, 616 yards and 5 TD. this past season, is 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds and is just a sophomore. He entered the portal today and immediately announced A&M and Alabama as two of his top teams.
Speaking of Alabama, former Tide WR Emmanuel Henderson could be in tomorrow. He had 4 catches for 82 yards this past season, but was a high 4-star in 2022 (sorry to mention that season).
DE Will Heldt, who A&M really wanted and felt good about, committed to Clemson.

Colonoscopy Update

Not really an update since I never told you guys I was getting one. I’m still under the influence of the good stuff as I type this. It’s really good stuff.

We all should remember Marco. He passed from colon cancer and pushed us to not be pussies and get the exam.

I have to say I’m glad I did it. I got the dual procedure of colonoscopy and endoscopy. They found one small polyp. And I got some scuba related irritation. And I had a minor issue with my stomach which explains some stuff. All should be treatable so I won’t die early of cancer.

I’m pretty sure I was talking to Jesus while out during the procedure. He assured me I was headed down the right path and to worry less about life. I forgot to ask him about an Aggie National Championship. That’s on me.

Anyway, this is your colon psa. Take care and I love you guys.

Is anyone on here an attorney licensed in New York or know anyone who is?

I’ve been dealing with something this week with some friends of mine in East Texas regarding someone who has had in accident in NYC and has been in and out of surgeries. The hospital is refusing to talk to anyone about this person’s condition, even the two friends that came in with the patient. It’s a long story and a real mess, but they are being told that they need some sort of court order or anything along those lines naming someone that they can speak with. Next of kin is not an option and the person is widowed.

They were working on this in this person’s county of residence, but just learned that it needs to come from an attorney/judge in New York for whatever reason. I was asked if I know any New York attorneys, which I do not. But I do know Aggie Yell. If anyone has someone that might be able to provide assistance, these people that are only wanting to know what is happening with their friend would be very grateful.

Freaking Mahomes

This dude must have elastic ligaments and joints. He's recovered from injuries that looked pretty bad very quickly, multiple times now. My sports podcasters were talking about how KC should shut him down for the rest of the regular season, based on the injury. Now he's been cleared to play against Houston this weekend. Oh, and he gets Hollywood Brown back. This whole Chiefs run seems to have a lucky penny up its ass, much like the Patriots run. I'm rooting for a Detroit/Buffalo Super Bowl.

Wednesday night portal update

Tomorrow will be the start of a big couple of days for A&M. They will have several targets in town for visits.
First is wideout KC Concepcion of NC State, who is probably the top remaining receiver in the portal (and the top target on many recruiting boards). He's been to Alabama, Colorado and Miami, so this is the last trip amongst his finalists.
A&M is already after Purdue DE Will Heldt, and that pursuit continues (and seems to look pretty good from A&M's perspective). But they'll host another Purdue D-lineman tomorrow: DT Damarjhe Lewis, who had 14 tackles and 3 TFL for the Boilermakers this year. He's a big 300-pounder, which they could sure use on the interior.
Western Kentucky DE Deante McCray is playing in the Boca Raton Bowl tonight for Western Kentucky, but will leave from there to be in town tomorrow. He's a bigger defensive end that the Aggies could sure use, and getting him and Heldt would be a big help.

Speaking of Western Kentucky, the guy playing next to him is someone A&M is familiar with -- DT Dallas Walker, who played for A&M for two years and never got on the field, even though he was a 4-star recruit. He was an All-C-USA player this year, and has committed to transfer to Auburn.
Where he'll replace Isaiah Raikes.

Also, I was checking on some guys who A&M might have interest in and checked on WR Zachariah Banks' twitter. A bunch of A&M coaches are following him, including Elko. Elko is also following his brother, safety Zion Branch. It may mean nothing, but I thought it curious all the same.

Dear Portal Saint Nick...

I know you already got a letter from Mark and I myself am very close to being a Level 4 Naughty - Lister due to my past associations with dash, barseven, cheeky, wick, 97, well, you know the list.... That said, I am looking for a one time special exemption of the reading of my wish list based on extenuating circumstances this year...like losing our top 2 RBs, center, sketcky play calling, inconsistent QB and mediocre WR/TE play. I could go on, but you get the deal. Here's the list (You don't have to fill it all today, but sooner is better than later.) 97 had me had add that last part. Like I said, hanging out with NA Listers doesn't help sometimes....

  • One each more really polished big play wideout. - Don't really care where from but bring the # 1 mentality & production to back it up.
  • One Earthmover/Mancrusher DT - We really lacked a couple of these guys inside last year. Need to add to rotation.
  • Another Twitchier Solid 3 Tech - Still need more depth. More is better based on last year.
  • Grown Man DE or Two - I like what we have coming back at WDE, but we have to bulk up, as Mark said, at SDE. The SEC has grown man tackles and TEs. We have to have guys who can hold up. (A guy who can get 10+ sacks would be perfect, too). wick made me add that last part. These guys, I tell ya...
  • Do it ALL TE Extraordinaire - Y'all have seen what Coach Klein can really do with a TE who really has the all around skills he wants. Could Green get back to that? Prayers to him for that. Could the fish? Big ask, so probably not right away. Better path is to get best one you can in portal with all skills needed. Nick, we're almost begging here....
Welp, that's all we can ask for now. Other than, a last one for me, when your checking the lists twice, please a look at these Ags' overall body of work, they're not such a bad group when you get right down to it.

Happy Holidays Gig'em!!!
