Trump trotted out a $500 billion 'Platinum Plan' for black business owners in late September. Do you think he legitimately recognized disparity or just trying to buy votes?
I think he both recognized the disparity and tried to buy votes. He was, after all, still a politician trying to win an election, which required overcoming an undeserved racism narrative. There has been pandering since there has been politics.
his plan also included promises of more jobs, better schools, safer streets, and better healthcare options which benefits everyone in those (and surrounding) communities.
The spec sheet for the platinum plan reads differently than saying specifically (paraphrased) “we are going to prioritize [everyone but white males]” or “providing additional relief for black farmers”. It doesn’t read like a “fvck you” to white males watching everything they’ve worked for circle the drain while other groups are getting vital handouts that you are disqualified for.
