I have this idea of renting a VRBO in the Matagorda area, either on Caney Creek or the Colorado either over spring break or early summer. Pull my own boat and explore the fishing (never fished that area, always go to Port O). Thinking of taking the mule and exploring the surf side of the island (my kids love beach combing).
Is this a good idea or is it destined to suck? I've never been down there and have no idea what to expect.
