The former Aggie basketball player led the Chicago Sky in PPG at 17.5 ( #13 in the WNBA) and was a finalist for Most Improved Player, yet the Sky did not extend her qualifying offer. This follows her trade from Atlanta (where she averaged 17.4 and 14.6 PPG) to LA in 2022 for locker room issues -she reportedly wanted to fight a teammate who told her to have a better attitude- and her unsuccessful time with the Sparks as she only started twice and DNP-coaches decision for the final 4 games after the Sparks fired Derek Fisher. She was benched earlier that season for “poor conduct” according to the LA Times. She made national headlines for shoulder checking Caitlin Clark to the ground while in Chicago.
Did she have these issues in Aggieland? Maybe I’m just not remembering, but I don’t recall big problems here. But if you’re at Top 15 scorer in a league that struggles with scoring and you are allowed to become a free agent rather than the team signing a qualifying offer, that looks really bad. Has a bad attitude ended her career at just 27, when she should be hitting her prime?
