I know this might be a controversial topic but overall, the 2025 class is pretty damn solid. I do question if there is some recency bias with the White Stripes getting in over The Black Crowes, but the Crowes should make it in next year. They've been way too influential in southern rock to keep them out much longer. It's great to see Warren Zevon finally get his due as an influencer of music. If you want to get a good feel for Warren, I suggest listening to the compilation album "Enjoy Every Sandwich" which has various artists doing Zevon's songs. It's one of my favorite go-to albums for any mood. Just pick a track on the album and it's great. Adam Sandler does an awesome version of Werewolves of London on the album, you have The Wallflowers doing Lawyers, Guns, and Money, there's a collab between Steve Earle and Reckless Kelly. Just a great album.

There is one artist being honored for "Musical Excellence" that I wanted to bring your attention to. Carol Kaye. Her story is absolutely amazing and she is the most recorded bass player of all time. A lot of people think of Lee Sklar when they think of studio bassists, or James Jamerson... They combined don't have the total number of recordings that Carol has. She pushed her way into a male dominated music scene in the 1950s and became the backbone of the West Coast Wrecking Crew. Just look her up and read about her. Her basslines are featured in one of my favorite songs, and a song of another inductee, Joe Cocker's "Feelin' Alright". The bounce that Carol adds to that song. Absolutely a master class in studio musicianship. BTW, she just turned 90 this year (and I've had a few online bass lessons with her). She's still got a lot of fire and is salty as hell. She called me out on some things I was doing and absolutely changed the way I played for the better.

Anyway. I'd love to get your thoughts on some of the inductees & other music stories.
