HCQ.. real life

In Chandler's world, and I am generally a big fan of his, if you have any opinions that overlap with the idiocy of some then you are part of the ignorant and blind. The great unwashed and unenlightened.

But one cannot help but notice it's only one sides' idiots that get called out.

Most important issues to democrats:
1) climate change
2) coronavirus (18%)

to republicans:
1) economy
2) abortion
3) crime
4) guns
5) coronavirus (5%)

but those right wingers were politicizing the shit out of it, weren’t they?
There is a direct parallel on the messaging of climate change and Covid. Almost shocking how similar the doomsday scenarios are for each if you don’t act now. Then when you act, it still isn’t good enough.

my daughter is anti-this and anti-that, but certainly anti-vax and anti-pharma..

her covid symptoms significantly worsened on day 6 so she reluctantly took the HCQ her "doctor" Rx'd..
condition reverted toward healthy almost immediately, literally a coupla hours after taking this "dangerous" med..
two days later she is "95%" and playing with my grandson, Zeke.

that's all.. see y'all in august
I’d admire you commitment to this cause, dentist.

howdy!.. and happy lgbtq+ month, y'all !
i had not thought of this thread in weeks..
until my daughter was recounting to my son's gf her Covid experience..
and i decided i would come back and see how the thread ended up.

so, daughter says that on day 6 she began having very labored breathing
and her fever had increassed, more lethargic and weak.. so she called her doctor.

doctor told her she's gonna Rx hydroxychloroquine,
and urged her to begin taking it asap or its meet up at the ER.

daughter called me for my input.. she called her local hippie pharmacy,
and lo and behold, they had HCQ in stock.

daughter says her symptoms subsided "immediately, within an hour"

but what do i know, im just a dentist.

Vaccines aren't fully authorized, and ivermectin has been tested for covid with very good results (about on par with the J&J vaccine).
It’s more effective, safer, long history and cheap. Non systemic and doesn’t cross the blood brain barrier.

generalizing from anecdotal evidence (especially when it conflicts with the results of controlled studies) is neither scientifically valid nor good medicine.

sure, someone’s grandpa smoked two packs a day and lived into their nineties.

it happens.

it’s also foolish to adopt this outlier as a means to longevity.

confuses “because of” with “in spite of.”

Truth is I don't know of course. I do know there are compelling arguments from both sides. This is unsettled science that seems to trend towards some efficacy at some level. To take an absolute stance on either side is evidence of partisan bias.
