My wife & I have a friend who's kind of high up in the Jacksonville Jaguar's front office....she's kind of a big deal.
Anyway the Jags are building a new state of the art stadium and that will mean they will have to play somewhere else for the 2027 season and the two locations they are looking are Gainesville (which is only 72 miles from Jax and would be a great substitute for Jags fans that would travel) and Orlando (which is twice the distance at 141 miles.)
The Gators decided sometime back to make the visitor's locker room at the Swamp small and gross and it's looking like that maybe the second most negative reason for the Jags not to pick Gainesville which is hilarious to me.
The money the Gators are going to lose the City of Gainesville in hotel and restaurant revenue alone is astronomical because they think having a shit hole of a visitors lockeroom directly correlates into wins on the football field.
