Elko:

Says they've got a lot of stuff to clean up as they get into game prep. Sunday is the scrimmage, they'll have Monday off.

Rueben Owens is "out for an extended period of time, probably the season".

Says the positions that are high areas of competition won't be decided "basically right until kickoff". Mentions 2nd linebacker, 3rd tackle, 5th DB. Sounds like starters are set.

Says they want to get the ball in Terry Bussey hands, but where he ends up is probably still up for grabs.

They're going to go with Moss, Daniels and Smith. Says Moss has had a really good camp. They have "what ifs" they've discussed if there are more injuries, but says "right now, it's not a very stressful situation".

Says he's happy with the tempo of practice, that they've handled the "small things" well. "We've got a group that's hungry to learn and improve."

Randy Bond has won the placekicker job. Elko says he's had a phenomenal camp. Bussey will likely be a returner, along with Allen. Moose will be the punt guy, probably.

Discusses the balancing act on working hard in camp but not getting guys hurt. Says they've optimized their approach with the experience from Duke.

Says he still wouldn't call the O-line a strength, but they've improved over the last week and it's become more balanced against the defense. Says they've gotten significantly better, though.

The four linebackers are York, Daymion Sanford, Solomon Deshields and Scooby Williams. Which I told you.

Indicates Marcel Reed is the backup, says he's been explosive this camp.

On Micah Tease, he says that he's done a great job on contested catches, and he's improved as camp as gone on.
