1. A&M running backs, 14 carries for only 48 yards, 3.4 yards per carry. The game plan of running the ball against a team that has performed poorly in defending the run is not working. The longest run by a running back is just 8 yards.

2. Marcel Reed, 9 carries for 50 yards, 5.6 yards per carry. Reed has more yards rushing than our four running backs combined. Good for him, but not a great compliment to our designed running game.

3. Bowling Green with 7 first downs. They have moved the ball well until crossing midfield. I don't believe we have held them to any 3 and outs. That has impacted the game as we have been pinned deep on punts.

4. Reed 9/17 and only 99 yards passing. He has been okay throwing the ball, but not great. Inability to find a way to complete long passes in combination with the Falcons controlling our running game is frustrating.

Concluding thoughts: We should be able to get chunk plays against this defense by either the run or pass, or both. We are finding neither. To beat these guys by more than the spread the running backs needs to be more productive.
