I was released yesterday from a hospital in Colorado while still recovering from Covid. I thought I was bullet proof because I had been double vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. But I got Covid, my wife got it, and my son got it. We all had the double Pfizer injection. Then my brother and his wife, who had gotten a double injection of the Moderna vaccine got it after they came over to the house before I got my test results (after all, they had been vaccinated).
While at the hospital, a nurse candidly told me that although the CDC says the vaccines work, the hospital has not seen "a damn bit of difference" between the vaccinated and unvaccinated patients. They get it with equal frequency, the disease is just as severe, and it lasts just as long. She recommended double masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer when in any public place.
I hate to think of that being the future for our country maybe for the rest of our natural lives, but perhaps it is.

This has moved from pandemic to endemic, so it will never go away. It is the flu with similar mortality. If you really want to be better protected, lose some weight, start walking more, stop smoking/vaping, get sunlight, and eat better. The chances of it hitting you worse than a mild flu go way, way down.

Glad to hear your family is and has recovered and thanks for reporting on your experience. There is a bunch of misinformation out there and actual cases are hopefully helpful to those with their blinders on.

Hospitals are not being asked to disclose information about vaccinated people admitted with Covid.
My SIL is an ER Doc and this does not equate to his experience. 97 percent of the people they admit with covid are non vaccinated. While he has seen 4 severe cases of covid among vaccinated patients the overwhelming majority of the severe cases and all of the deaths were among non vaccinated patients.
He believes the 4 vaccinated patients with severe cases would have died had they not been vaccinated.
while the vaccinated are at risk to a degree, the unvaccinated are the ones who are at extreme risk.
How getting a vaccine EVER became political is beyond me. It used to be only the crazies like Jenny McCarthy's were anti-vaxxers.

It’s funny/sad that people on both sides of the vaccine debate pretty much have the same bullet points for reasoning why they’re on the right side.

This is the biggest reason vaccine passports should be outlawed. Negative test for unvaccinated should be for everyone or none, if you're worried that much.

Yep. The annual flu shot is not a vaccine. It is an attempt to give you some protection from the latest strains of flu. Sometimes it works and sometimes the years’ batch is very ineffective. After all these years the flu hasn’t been cured and the medical community rightly refrains from calling it a vaccine.
what Modena and Pfizer have is a Covid 19 flu shot. Nothing more. Calling it a vaccine and issuing vaccine mandates is just a PR move.

I hear you and pray that is the case but we have an example of one family batting 100%. I lost one of my best friends last month 61 in great shape fully vaccinated and is no longer with us.
according to who? Everyone has their own numbers. Of my personal experience, people I actually know, it's worse for those who got the shot. Look at the comments above, everyone has their own info sources and experiences.

We don’t. If the vaccinated are so effective why is our CDC not reporting the breakthrough cases? It would seem if they were effective they would happily report and trace these numbers but they’re not. I’m amazed that people are not questioning this
The vaccine became political when the Ds denied the vaccine would be ready by the election amd then questioned it because they didn’t want to give Trump credit. it was ready and announcement was delayed until after the election for obvious reasons. Now the very same people are trying to force it on everyone without informed consent and no liability to the vaccine makers. If the government can mandate a vaccine, they can mandate mandatory sterilization for people they don’t like. Once the health decisions are no longer yours, they can make choices for you arbitrarily
