I’m not sure why I’m not as pissed off as a lot of you

It’s weird. I’ve gone way over the top in my reactions over the years, but I’m just not as doom and gloom as a lot of my fellow posters. Maybe I’m just older and have Low T.

What I do know though is there was not a coach in the country that was going to walk in and go undefeated in year one with this roster. The starting QB imploded on himself, one starting RB goes down for the season before game one and the other goes out during conference play, the WR’s were not talented. Elko came in and absolutely loaded up on DB’s because Jimbo didn’t leave him with any. It was a complete makeover that had to be done and he is in year one of doing it.

I will say that I don’t particularly like Bateman and I’m neutral on Klein. The play calling was way too predictable last night, but overall Klein just didn’t have the dudes this season that he needs. Reed is going to be a very good player, but he needs to develop, gain experience and learn from this season.

As for Elko, he showed what he knows about football with his performance as DC at A&M and HC at Duke. He understands this game and knows what it takes to win. He sees what we see and, unlike Jimbo, I don’t expect him to keep coaches on his staff that get in his way of achieving his and the team’s goals.

Now that we’re done with the regular season, let’s see how we close out this recruiting class and go to work getting to know the WR’s and others in the transfer portal.

Question

For those who had a better view of the field than I did, from my standing room only seats (where I had to watch most of the game from the big board).

So Reed didn't take any shots longer that 15-20 yards after the INT. Almosto everything was short or he hesitated to throw and ended up running. Was there just no one to throw to? Was Reed just being gun shy? or was this just a product of our shit OC?
