Let's talk NIL spending for a second

I saw in Landyn's Jonah Williams thread that people were griping about Elko not wanting to spend money on "elite talent" and that's why he'll be a failure and A&M will never win and then someone jumped off a building and blah blah blah.

Now, I told you in the spring that Elko let some guys walk because they weren't worth the money they wanted and it could be allocated in a better fashion. So, for those of you supporting the "I want one elite and not three really goods", I submit the following:

What if the $1.4 million Evan Stewart got from Oregon was used instead on Nic Scourton, Dezz Ricks, Trey Jones and Cyrus Allen? Is that a decent return on investment compared to Stewart, who didn't score a touchdown after Auburn and was known for being the king of the training room -- but is, unquestionably, an elite talent when he wants to be?

Baseball training for your boys

How many of you AYers are “select” baseball families? I hate you and your entire philosophy on how to raise an athlete. GO!!!

This is strictly for fun. Please don’t think the premise of this post in any way effects the outcome. I love eyrbody…

….except you fvckin bags o shit that have ruined little league baseball forever.

Respectfully

GO AGS!!!!

Aggies add players to injury report

In case you didn't see it last night, Conner Weigman is now questionable (by definition, a 50/50 shot to play) for Saturday's game at Florida. He has been dealing with a shoulder issue since the Notre Dame game, when he got hurt. There was some doubt as to whether he'd play last week, but he did as we all know. If the injury is what I think it is, it's similar to the one Johnny Manziel and Trevor Knight endured (an AC joint). You can play with it, it's just a matter of pain tolerance.
Weigman's decision will likely be made at gametime. This is purely a gut feeling, but I think he'll go. On the other hand, Miles O'Neill is traveling this week, so...I guess we'll see.

Tyreek Chappell is out and is probably out for a long time, if not the season. He was hurt in practice and I'm told it was not a good deal. That really sucks, because he was really coming into his own at nickel. On the other hand, he is eligible to redshirt, so he will likely return next season. He was really happy when Mike Elko returned, the two have a strong bond and that should keep him around.

Safety Trey Jones is also out. I'm not sure what his injury is, but I'll do some digging. Regardless, that shortens the safety rotation.

So who's up next?

Marcel Reed will start if Weigman can't. He outplayed Jaylen Henderson in training camp and Collin Klein really likes what he can do in terms of being a dual threat. This, of course, would be his first career start (he came in on the second play against Oklahoma State), so there's concern about inexperience and being in a hostile venue. But Reed has gotten the majority of first team snaps each of the last two weeks to give Weigman's arm a break.

Jaydon Hill will move into the starting lineup at nickel. The Gators don't seem to have much respect for their former teammate, with one player saying that they should run right at him and Scooby Williams.

Williams is also an iffy proposition. If he can't go, Daymion Sanford will start. On the plus side, Solomon DeShields really had a good game last weekend, so hopefully those two will be able to handle things next to Taurean York.

With Jones being out, Bryce Anderson, Marcus Ratcliffe and Dalton Brooks will be the primary safeties. We may see Jarred Kerr some as well.

On the other side...

A&M has injury concerns, but Florida is battered. Their best wideout, Eugene Wilson, is questionable and I've heard the odds of him playing are not good at all. He has the proverbial "lower body injury", but if a receiver can't run, it's not much help -- even if he has practiced some this week. There's a lot of talk of Florida having to look at some new faces because some of the other projected starters were lost for the year before training camp even started.

Defensive end T.J. Searcy, who has six tackles while starting the first two games, is also very iffy.

The Gators have already lost two starting defensive backs, CB Ja'Keem Jackson and S Asa Turner, to injuries and they're both ruled out.

The O-line knows the pressure is on

With Weigman iffy and the weather quite possibly being an issue tomorrow -- right now, thunderstorms are expected to clear right at gametime, but lightning could delay it -- there's a real need for the Aggie offensive line to control things tomorrow. I said earlier in the week that Le'Veon Moss may be the most important player in this game, and my opinion hasn't changed. A&M needs to go out there, control the line of scrimmage and make life easier for Weigman or Reed. Thankfully, A&M's offensive line -- or, the new version after Mark Nabou's loss -- is fully healthy.

4-star WR making his pick next Wednesday

Jerome Myles of Draper, Utah, will make his college choice next week. A lot of people have thought in-state Utah had the edge, but his three finalists include A&M and USC. Of late, it seems like USC has the momentum, but it doesn't seem like anything's done. The Aggies do have one ace in the hole: they're closing in on his quarterback, 2026 4-star Helaman Cusaga, as their signal caller for that class.

Ukraine, Russia, and Western Weapons

Sounds like we’re set to approve the use of western weapons into Russian territory. I find it very inconvenient that for the past couple of years every single leader has been completely opposed to this idea due to retaliation from Putin. You’re less than 2 months away from the US election with Trump potentially leading in many polls. Then all of the sudden Western leaders are completely fine with this. Yes, start a potential WW3 and keep the democrats in office. But does that work?

My question is why the shift in philosophy here? It makes absolutely zero sense why we would provoke Putin into using nuclear weapons or to at the very least “assume he won’t.”

Twitter and transparency

Saw this tweet this morning. Elon is going to releasing all of theTwitter files. These show the level of collusion between government, big tech, and national media to control and silence those with opposing views. He will be releasing all Twitter files that expose not just the current administration and democrats, but also the files when Donald Trump and republicans used it also. This is what we should be wanting, and allowing for true disclosure and discussion.
This is what I want, to be able to discuss without vilifying the other side. We need the discussion and everyone to be able to talk and listen. I want the opportunity to hear the opposing views and they hear mine.

PS. Could not find the tweet where they said he would be releasing all no just hunter Biden and dems. It is out there.

Being Reported In The F-L-A

That the heavy hitting Gator donors have secured Billlllly's buyout.

It's a foregone conclusion now that he can't do anything Saturday to keep his job and they are focusing in on Lane Kiffen.

In my opinion A&M will never have a better chance than Saturday to get a win in the Swamp. Billy now knows he gone and the fans know it too and they will show their displeasure very quickly if A&M does anything good.

The Swamp

For those of you who have never been it's a formidable place to play.

Gator fans are loud no matter who they are playing and they allow their fans to sit just a few feet behind the visiting team's bench. They are also obnoxious and act like they are Alabama when lately they are more along the lines of a good Vanderbilt team.

Before last Saturday's 45-7 beatdown of lowly Samford the Gators were 0-6 in their last 6 games with 1 of those loses coming on a neutral site and 2 away, but 3 were in the Swamp including a complete ass kicking by Miami only two weeks ago.

Good Luck AG's .....I will be there Saturday at 3:30 pulling for your team to send Billllllly into an early retirement.

Anyone know a hard money lender or any lender that can do a $15MM bridge loan quickly?

No, this is not for me.

I’ve been approached by someone representing a client that is looking to purchase a $23MM building on a 65% LTV. I’ve seen financials and everything checks out, except the fact that they need to close in two weeks. They don’t care about rate because they will be locking down the permanent loan once it closes, but they need a bridge to get there.

If anyone can throw a name out here or DM me some info, I can pass along. Thanks.
