I just finished this on HBOMax. It delivered big time. I've been a religious consumer of Bill Simmons' media content for over 20 years now, transitioning from articles to podcasts in the late 2000s. He promotes his Music Box series of documentaries sometimes on his sports and Rewatchables podcasts, but none of the subjects had really interested me until this one, so it was my first time seeing one. It really delivered.

Michael McDonald is definitely given his flowers in it. The music is great, and I learned a lot about some of the artists: McDonald, Steely Dan, Toto, Christopher Cross, Loggins, etc. I had never known that Christopher Cross is from Texas, and that "Ride Like the Wind" was written while he was tripping on acid on a drive from Houston to Austin. Good sh!t.

Anyway, it's a really fun documentary best seen with a beverage or two, or perhaps a toke or edible.
