So my wife's family lives in Germany and her brother passed away unexpectedly this morning. I've never met her brother but have met other family members just 8 months ago in Germany, including her mom (her dad passed away 2 years ago). I just dropped her off at the airport, with my young daughter, so they could attend the funeral and spend time with her family.
Part of me feels terrible that I'm not going but I have responsibilities at home with a dog who is sick and a job that requires me here.
Curious what others think the right thing to do is.... stay home and take care of business or leave everything behind and support the wife in Germany. It should also be noted that same day tickets to Germany aren't cheap.
