When I was growing up in the '90s, none of my friends cared one bit about politics or the government. I wish the current generations sucked a little less.

Neighbors 16 year old daughter has decided to no longer stand for the pledge at school.....now whether you disagree with this or not I don’t care.....but at 16 I didn’t give a shit about politics and none of my friends did. We have allowed this stuff to infiltrate everyone’s life and it is not a good thing for the country’s future.
a few weeks ago I deleted my social media and quit following all news.....it’s been great for my happiness.

The older I get the less I care about politics. A bunch of people "yelling" at each other and pointing fingers. No one taking blame, no one stepping up to lead. The whole thing is a circus, a shitshow, its always been about the money and the power, greed in its finest form. More people should see it for what it is worth. The people who represent us should do a better job of earning their pay. The system is broken with literally no fix in sight. I quit following it along time ago with zero plan to ever return. Does what happens matter? Of course it does! Do we have any control, no, never have and never will. Therefore, let it go. Live your life.
I deleted FB and it helped a lot, but it would take all forms of interaction to avoid completely.
But your sentiment is spot on. Hopefully we can at least stop defining everyone by political terms in the near to medium term vs 4 years of divide and conquer regardless of which way you lean
I don’t think you’ll get many liberals on the board. Moderates who may have even voted for Trump but thought he was a disaster on this board tend to get called socialist.

Nah I thought he was hilarious and didn’t care until we actually needed a leader this year. It’s over now. Really interested how Republican Party can reset itself to appeal to a broader range of voters.
