Bateman:

Says they're dedicated to "true edge players", so they're going with some slimmer guys at defensive end.
Took it that "everyone needed to be better. Coaches included" after last season. Said they patched it together last year, and with injuries, they didn't have the depth they needed.
Really likes Jordan Shaw at nickel. Also thinks Myles Davis "has really come along".
Says TJ Searcy has been good and Deyon Hayes has been tremendous. Also says good things about Sam M'Pemba.
"Nobody was immune to the discussions" (after last season's collapse)
Said that they immediately started working on major mistakes, which were normally bad fixes, but also said there were schematic mistakes too.
"We have simplified things in the run structure that we think will help us."
Says Elko "wants things done in a certain way" and has been "a little bit more involved".
Says Landon Rink has been exactly what they thought he was, really really tough.
Chase Sims should be a dynamite player, and DJ Sanders is really really talented.
Coby Sellers has impressed with his speed and football knowledge. Adonyss Currie has shown his talent. Says they "hit on" all five of the freshmen in the secondary.
Says that the quality level has increased significantly year over year in practice, so they're able to do more.

Klein:
Says that, across the board, they'll have a better platform for Reed than they did last year.
Says that they're working to create competition across the offensive line (mostly backups).
Mentions Mario Craver's speed has already made a difference. Also mentions Ashton Bethel-Roman brings a "home run speed component". Says KC Concepcion has been "phenomenal". "One of the best competitors I've been around at the receiver position."
Mentions Theo Ohrstrom and Nate Boerkircher doing a good job at their position, and that Amari Niblack has been excellent.
Really likes their team speed, mentions the new backs, Morrow and Riden, as well as the receivers.
Said they were at a "schematic disadvantage" at times last year, especially when Moss went down.
Feels like they can push the issue more with the team speed.
Oh, God. "We have to execute better". Jimbo grins somewhere.
Says Zeno has "seen a lot of football...and is already a great teammate."
Really likes Brady Hart. "The moment hasn't been too big for him."
Miles O'Neill has made "tremendous strides" from last year.
Says Rueben Owens will be "a big time difference maker".
