The Jimbo error didn't see many much in the way of trick plays, if any. Fisher just didn't believe in them, subscribing to the view that the practice for them took time away from perfecting basic offense, which notably enough, was never perfect anyway.

While I don't advocate a gimmick based offense I think trick plays have their place. They can be the margin in a close game, their judicious use makes things less predictable and forces opposing defenses to prepare for them and be ready for them. And let's face it, when they work they are just fun as Hell to watch and talk about later.

I don't know Elko's philosophy regarding their use but I will be watching to see if we pull some out this year.
