We’ve long known or at least strongly suspected that the propensity of the big money Ags to overpay for lackluster coaching performances has helped lead to more lazy lackluster coaching. The perception of A&M as a “pine box” job just seems to sap the desire right out of our coaching staffs.

Now with the advent of NIL and our masterful and bold approach to it, have we created the same issue for our players?

Further, do the coaches just feed off of that and assume since we’re paying for and getting the best talent and surrounding them with high paid, previously-successful coaches that the pieces are all just supposed to align and produce wins and championships?

Basically, are we the best in the business at creating ingrained entitlement in our football program from top to bottom? Are we taking our failed approach to hiring and retaining coaches and now applying it directly to the players as well?
