Hmmm, I know what a lot of y'all are thinking. He's just one player. Yep, that's true and yet it isn't, too. We were in need of desperate overhaul to our WR corps after this season. The recruiting class was a good start, some holdovers show promise but are young and so were the portal additions. What we lacked was a true proven impact guy to lead the pack and allow Thomas to slide to a better fit as a # 2. But it goes deeper than that. Proven experience at the top is also going to allow for the steadier development of kids like Craver, Bussey, Hudson, Bethel-Roman, Williams, Myles etc....all the way through room. I've seen some criticism of Bussey saying that he's not twitchy or lacks long speed. While I'll agree he's not especially sudden, I've seen enough athleticism and speed to realize he has plenty once he learns how better to utilize those gifts within the nuances of his position. He reminds me of an unpolished DJ Moore early when he was in college. Moore isn't a flat out burner, either, but is exceptional at using his speed and precision to run routes. For Bussey, it's not a 200 meter race. He just has to get there. That's just one obvious example I could've used on development. Time for Coach Wiggins to really earn his pay!
One position group looks like it just went from a weakness to a strength. Few more to go....
