In 2007 my wife and I were looking for a better home. Price per sq ft in the area of DFW that we were interested in purchasing was selling for $300 per sq ft.
Just couldn't pull the trigger on that cost per ft. Then the GFC hit, we purchased a home in that same neighborhood and builder for just under $200 per ft in 2009.
We got into a spec home that sat for a year or so at an approx 35% discount from original asking price.
Now the wife wants to either remodel or buy new since that 2009 home home is now outdated.
I once again have a bad feeling about either cost of remodel or new home.
Will we get an opportunity in next few years to buy at a discount or remodel at a cheaper cost?
