Miami has played two cupcakes, Bethune and Miami (Ohio), and has destroyed them like good teams do. They are playing extremely well and probably are a legit Top 20 team if you rank them by statistics. So I did comparison of their opponents vs A&M, and you can judge for yourselves. In my opinion, our rushing offense and defense is probably stronger than it seemed last Saturday.

Miami Rushing Offense
Miami vs 2 opponents: 36 for 240 yds (6.7 ypc), 36 for 250 yds (6.9 ypc)
Miami vs A&M: 24 for 77 yds (3.2 ypc)

Miami Rushing Defense
Miami vs 2 opponents: 30 for 33 yds (1.1 ypc), 25 for 51 yds (2.0 ypc)
Miami vs A&M: 29 for 97 (3.3 ypc)

Sadly, the passing game comparison is negative, obviously, but if A&M DB's simply improve their tackling the way they are capable of, those numbers would be very different.

Miami Passing Offense
Miami vs 2 opponents: 19/23 (83%) for 247 yds, 17/22 (77%) for 201 yds
Miami vs A&M: 21/30 (70%) for 374 yds

Miami Passing Defense
Miami vs 2 opponents: 11/17 for 132 yds, 13/24 for 164 yds
Miami vs A&M: 21/30 for 374 yds

Overall, we got beat on the road by a good team on a day we didn’t play our best football. Considering the context, we might still have a good season ahead.
