I won't give Jimbo a pass for struggling this year when the team frequently looked intimidated and just not mentally there. That's on the coach and even when the talent is lacking vs. tough opponents going out and competing and not being mentally soft is largely on the coaching staff. It's harder when you don't have players who are leaders but still.

Anyway, go back and look at the recruiting classes since 2015 who would have been 5th year seniors this year. There's a whole lot of dead weight.

2015: signed 26, 10th ranked class- at least 12 would be deemed busts or never really contributed for one reason or another
2016: signed 21, 17th ranked class- at least 10 have never made a meaningful contribution
2017: signed 28, 10th ranked class- at least 11 have done nothing yet
2018: signed 23, 16th ranked class- mostly Sumlin's class as Jimbo was hired just before the early signing period and didn't have much time; unless they've transferred I won't call these guys busts yet 6 are already transferring and a 7th is almost certainly retiring due to injuries
2019: signed 27, 6th ranked class- too soon to say but early returns are really strong
