Man, after watching this season unfold it’s become glaringly obvious that the portal has vastly superseded (sp?) high school recruiting in the world of team building.
There is a large collection of teams that have come from nothingness to competitive to even championship seasons after just one good cycle in the portal.
In fact, I’m willing to bet that the four teams left wouldn’t be in that position were it not for some valuable acquisitions in last years’ portal. Sure, the newbie recruits are still playing a role in depth building, but there have been some MAJOR shifts this year based solely off the portal.
If you get the right guys in the right situation….shit can snowball in a hurry. I feel like we were so close to hitting that downslope this year. A couple of calls or injuries go our way and we were right there till the end.
Get a couple of spark plugs for that offense and fill in a couple of gaps on that DC that needs to be lit on fire and we’re back on track. It seems to happen REALLY fast these days.
Also, blahhhh blaaaaahhhhhh bllaaaahahahahaahahahaahaha…..and some other stuff. This shit gets exhausting sometimes
