Random thunder shower exposes design flaws

Huge storm just over our house.

I've dug a six inch bed on a slanted part of the yard. Lined it with cinder blocks. Filled it with crushed granite.

I was about 86% done when I took a nap and the storms came.

Now I know where the water flows.
