WEST
Bama Favorite in West by far, but D not up to usual par. Tua best QB in America with best WRs. Probable champ of West Div.
Auburn. Outstanding D, Mature freshman QB. Lots of O weapons. May be ready to challenge conference big boy leaders.
Old Mrs.Hung 31 pts on Bama's D. Impressive. D is awful. Rebuilding.
MSU .Weak. Still a bottom feeder with a long way to go in rebuild process.
LSU. Bye, but well led and coached on O. Damn fine QB / leader. D is probably too young to challenge for West division.
Arkansas. Entered A&M game a pitiful wreck, but played above their heads for Aggie Chad against a sleep walking A&M. Still a bottom feeder needing a rebuild & staying with a competent QB - not Starkel.
Fightin' Texas Aggies. talented but Inconsistent O. Not yet playing to potential. No fire in bellies .Needs a field leader to rally around.TE play has disappeared. D is salty up front, but only average on the back end. If improves, then 8-4 season; maybe even 9-3. If no improvement - 6-6 or 7-5.
EAST
Florida. Better, but over rated. Suspect strength against quality opponents.New QB?
Tennessee bye. Basket case on both O & D. Bottom feeder.
Vandy. Inconsistent . HC deserves better performance than he is getting out of his players. Still a perennial bottom feeder waiting for baseball season.
SCAR. Surprising strength against Kentucky. Good win. Solid O led by QB who is the brother of that all star QB at Washington State that committed suicide. Looks good. Aggressive D. Will be better this year, but not good enough to beat Georgia.
Kentucky - Too many personnel losses from last year's winning squad. Stoops back to square 1 in the rebuild.
MIZZOU. Yet un tested. Certainly better on O, but D is suspect. Not ready to compete for a return to the division championships of several years ago just yet.
Georgia. bye. Still the favorite in the East by far. Talented and seasoned O led by a first rate QB. Salty D. Deep bench on both sides of the ball.
