We are wanting to install a door in our upstairs game room entry for the main purpose of reducing the noise that filters from upstairs to downstairs. Because of the ease of install and ability to easily remove if wanted later (and looks) we are thinking of a ban style door.
Obviously do to the design there are gaps all around the edge of the door so the sound barrier is going to be less effective than a normal door would be but how effective will it be is my big question?
Those of you who have a hanging barn style door on their house what is your opinion on how much it blocks sound from one side to the other?
