1. Defense: The tone of the game from a defensive perspective was set on the first series of the game. Williams had their qb dead to rights and completely whiffed on the sack. That set the tone. That was the worst tackling performance I’ve seen in a long time. It was unbelievable to watch. It was that bad. Their qb and rb’s were too big and strong for our defense. Scourton was a complete non factor. The safeties and corners were atrocious in their tackling and coverage. When you give up 3 bills on the ground to a team that you know runs the ball, you got your ass whipped. Very poor defensive performance.

2. Offense: losing Moss was a huge loss and will be a huge loss if he can’t come back. Our inability to convert short yardage opportunities was a huge factor in the loss. Their defensive front was more physical than our OL. The play calling was meh and the second half adjustments we made didn’t work at all. When you can’t consistently convert third and forth down short yardage opportunities, you’re not going to win many games against real teams. And SC is a real team. They had LSU beat but the refs took the game from them and they lost by 2 to Bama. Tonight they showed they are a real team and we showed that we can’t build on a huge win, we can’t tackle and we can’t do anything offensively that’s effective. The auburn game will be a coin flip game and the Texas game will be ugly unless we improve dramatically from what I saw tonight.
