I have been on this board for almost 20 years, and I think the reaction to this game might be one of the most wild things I have seen in all my years on the boards.

Let me refresh everyone's memory of how dominant Clemson has been since we played them last year and Lawrence / Ross started playing full time for them (putting up Ross numbers as he was their leading receiver in all of these games). See below.

In the 1st round playoffs last year, Notre Dame was 12-0 and Clemson outscored them by 27 in 3 quarters (neither team scored in 4th) in a neutral site game, with a TRUE FRESHMAN quarterback and a TRUE FRESHMAN leading WR.

In the Championship game, Clemson outscored Bama by 28 points in 3 quarters (neither team scored in 4th) with a TRUE FRESHMAN quarterback and a TRUE FRESHMAN leading WR in a neutral site game. Many were saying last years Bama teams could have been one of the top teams of all time going into that game due to their dominance during the regular season.

Clemson was at home, and returned pretty much 100% of their offensive skill talent and only scored 24 on us, and only 7 in the 2nd half, which is encouraging to me.

On offense, I think we had the right scheme to make some plays, but the players did not execute (see 2nd play of the game to Buckly, numerous drops). Mond has his worst game in quite a while, and a lot of you must have forgotten about his heroics against LSU and Clemson last season.

Mond threw for 3,000 last year with 24/9, and ran for another 7 scores in his first year under Jimbo, against the hardest schedule in the nation. Yesterday he threw for 236 1/1. We have a chance to win a lot of games this year with the improvement we have seen on defense and the ceiling we have on O. Lets let things play out a bit more before some of you jump off the cliff.
