Right again....servers aren't important...who knew? You can still use a browser on your computer or desktop view on your phone to access Parler.
Not having an app is inconvenient, but not the massive barrier to entry some are clamoring about.

I deleted my Facebook yesterday for good. Deleted Twitter Thursday. The only way things will change is if people leave the sites. Complaining about it does no good.
big tech is wrongYes and freedom of speech is an American ideal even beyond the first amendment. The free exchange of ideas was something most all promoted.
Not to mention simply having tech companies act as a surrogate to one political arm of our government doesn't necessarily avoid the issue. China's government routinely censored by having its companies and people do it for them.
It is a big problem any American should care about no matter your political leanings.
The fact that multiple firms with large market shares cooperated together in an action that removed a potential competitor to twitter, raises antitrust issues we have never had to consider before. It harms competition in the market place but for political reasons, at least on the surface. Very thorny issue imo.
Dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Just ignorant of the law in every way possible. An internet court? I cannot believe any reasonable human said it much less posted it.I would highly recommend listening to this entire podcast, but for those adamant this isn't a free speech issue, I would challenge you to listen to at least this part of the discussion.
Do you think government should tell private businesses what to do? I assumed this group was anti regulation. Does that only apply when you don’t want it?big tech is wrong
Lol, do you know who those people are that you're talking about? But feel free to list your solutions along with your credentials if you like.Dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Yeah...they are...and we're all victims of censorship. They still have many options for web hosting providers, it doesn't live and die with Amazon providing the service. They're no real victim.

It's just like any other platform. What you see depends on who you follow. So to answer your question, the content I've seen on Parler more socially acceptable to what I regularly see on Twitter. Let's keep in mind that for more than a year ISIS used Twitter as it's main source of recruiting and messaging, and they still allow all kinds of hate speech as long as whoever is doing the moderating agrees.Interesting that no one has mentioned the content on Parler. There was some (a lot) pretty disturbing stuff. I get the free speech outlet it represented but anyone care to dive into the content routinely posted on there....or nah; do we ignore that part?
So you’re good with what you saw from right wingers on there. Got it.It's just like any other platform. What you see depends on who you follow. And you are obviously good with what left wingers spew all over Twitter I guess. Got it. Guess you are fine with the Ayatollah posting death to America and Jews. Twitter is perfectly fine with itSo you’re good with what you saw from right wingers on there. Got it.
Absolutely, and you would have been too. That's my point. It's just a platform. I just follow normal people and they just post normal stuff. If I went and found all the most extreme stuff posted on twitter and posted them all in one place, it would look like it was full of nothing but extremists. So you’re good with what you saw from right wingers on there. Got it.

Twitter banned accounts related to conspiracy nut jobs. Maybe it isn’t so smart to talk about how many of your Twitter followers dropped off given they targeted conspiracy nut jobs?yes, the real issue here is what is posted in obscure parts of parler, not the fact that tech is banning everything that isn't in lock-step agreement with their progressive agenda.
I haven't checked, but have they banned all Holocaust deniers? Like the Ayatollah of Iran?Twitter banned accounts related to conspiracy nut jobs. Maybe it isn’t so smart to talk about how many of your Twitter followers dropped off given they targeted conspiracy nut jobs?

Now you have a bunch of blue checks saying “we need to snuff out whatever ideas let trump win in the first place”.did you even look at what i linked?
in a philosophical sense, who the fvck are you to determine who is a conspiracy nut job, and who gets to speak?
let's not play stupid here, this is all merely the continuation of what started as cancel culture which we were told was to eliminate _____ism. it has quickly transformed into stomping out the voices of half of the country, all while our news media is running cover for the entire thing.
this isn't Q shit. this is happening right now. and one day you too will find yourself on the wrong side of the agenda.
Wow. Isn't theirjob to be skeptical in general as journalists? This implies they aren't going to be skeptical or do investigative journalism with some businesses.A Truth Reckoning: Why We’re Holding Those Who Lied For Trump Accountable
As American democracy rebounds, we need to return to a standard of truth when it comes to how the government communicates with the governed.www.forbes.com
Let it be known to the business world: Hire any of Trump’s fellow fabulists above, and Forbes will assume that everything your company or firm talks about is a lie. We’re going to scrutinize, double-check, investigate with the same skepticism we’d approach a Trump tweet. Want to ensure the world’s biggest business media brand approaches you as a potential funnel of disinformation? Then hire away.
my favorite quote:
"As someone in the business of facts, it’s been especially painful to watch President Trump’s press secretaries debase themselves."
This, ladies and gentlemen, is our media in a nut shell.
Sure dude. Half of the country no longer has a voice. The POTUS who has cameras on him all day every day no longer has a voice. Parler wasn’t used to organize what came to fruition last week (and isn’t overtly used for right wing extremism) and I’m sure Trump didn’t incite any violence by continued spreading of misinformation offering same-day rhetoric of continued support to the protestors whom many ended up being rioters. And let me guess it wasn’t MAGA who stormed the Capitol, it was Antifa.did you even look at what i linked?

You also think your first amendment rights are under attack even though these forums are owned by private companies with conservatives who sit on their boards. Anything else?
What happened last week wasn’t some unforeseen, random act. Many Republicans turned a blind eye to the signs for many reasons but there was a clear build up to the situation that everyone must now face in the mirror.this is not even about trump any more, this is (again) about:

You were given straight and truthful talk. You just ignored it.What happened last week wasn’t some unforeseen, random act. Many Republicans turned a blind eye to the signs for many reasons but there was a clear build up to the situation that everyone must now face in the mirror.
I’m sure right wing media and conservative persons would rather we just “move on” and not deal with any fallout. The usual “do-nothing” approach Republicans prefer in the face of significant embarrassment. But there should be accountability. I don’t know what that should look like, per se, but it would be nice if Republican leaders grew a pair and started with some truthful straight talk.
🙄Anything said or done by conservatives from this point forward, other than surrender of ideas and beliefs, will be reported as a propaganda campaign in support of a coup attempt.

How you people cannot realize two things can both be wrong is staggering and a showing of a complete lack of intellect and independent thought. Cheeky never said he doesn’t care about those people. Not a single person here was supporting looting and arson. But because it happened once you have no issues with an insurrection on the Capitol of the United States of America. Unreal.Cheeky is displaying his lack of caring for the American citizens who lost their businesses and who were displaced by the shanty countries innsurrection in the city streets.
I'm really disappointed in you guys for not standing up for these communities that were overrun this summer. How you people cannot realize two things can both be wrong is staggering and a showing of a complete lack of intellect and independent thought. Dad-in-Texas - come tell us again about how you have no sympathy for the officer beaten to death at the Capitol. That story was emblematic of pretty much everything else on this thread.
I guess your only option other than facing the music (not an option per Republican approach) is to pivot to another topic.sorry, you don't get to feign indignance over the matter while your socialist politicians sat on their hands while riots caused billions of dollars in damage over the summer.
