Just some random thoughts. Interested in what others saw:
1) Who was the driving force behind our hitting philosophy of taking so many pitches the past three years? solely Schloss? I always assumed Early had a ton of input into that approach. I have never seen so many first pitch swings from our lineup as I did this weekend.
2) Patton looked really good and reminded me of Prager. Not overpowering stuff, but well located every time.
3) Not saying Sorell wont play, but Kiel could make this an interesting problem. He did not look overmatched.
4) saying up front this may be completely unfair as I know he supposedly raked all fall and winter plus he had a home run and a single on Friday, but I am not sold on Binderup.
5) Bullpen was my #1 concern coming into the season and I didn’t really see much to allay those concerns.
6) Henseler looks like the real deal. Was hitting the ball hard all weekend.
7) opening weekend and several guys in new positions, but the defense was not crisp. Hopefully something that doesn’t linger.
8) that Jace Lasomething guy might be pretty good
