1. 31 to 7. Points scored while Reed was in vs. points scored while Weigman was in. Res ipsa loquitur, bro. While Conner has some bad breaks, he just couldn't complete passes, going 6/18 for only 64 yards. Reed nearly equaled those passing yards on one play, and was 2/2 for 70 yards, dropping 54 yard dime to well covered Noah Thomas with the kind of throw Weigman has not completed all year. But he killed LSU with his feet, rushing 9 times for 62 yards and an astounding 3 TDs. Simply put he took over the game. I suppose we will still have a QB controversy but we shouldn't.

2. Nussmeir 11/24 in the second half with three interceptions. When we started pressuring him he turned out to be mortal after all and started making game changing mistakes. With the exception of one play the Aggie defense shut down this Heisman wannabe in the second half. Even so, the Nussmeir otherwise smoked the Aggie pass defense for 405 yards passing, but the real story here is the three interceptions, all in the second half.

3. LSU with 24 rushes for . . . 23 yards. Less than a yard per rush. Defense was disruptive again with two sacks and total of six TFLs. LSU had 11 rushes for 24 yards in the first half, so their second half rushing stats were 13 for -1.

4. LSU 1/4 with for field goal attempts, yes, I'm counting the snap that bounced off the holder's shoulder. LSU's field goal kicker/team left nine crucial points on the field.

5. A&M with 10 penalties for 97 yards. In the things to work on category this stands out. Some of the penalties were often stupid killers. We need to do better.

Overall: Marcel Reeds saves the day as Elko last night did what he should have done in the Notre Dame game. The Aggies should slip into the Top 10 today. Next up the Aggies travel to South Carolina, who is better than their 2-3 conference record.
