2) Texas, in particular, would have to do a ton of fence-mending for this to even be a consideration.

my personal take: this thing has little shot of occurring. These two programs, Texas in particular, would need to realize they’re just one of 16 and that’s it. They’re not special. Right now, A&M would not be the only school prepared to veto.
