Some approve, some gripe, but what annual salary amount and language would make you happy with the hire and our situation?
I'm luke warm on Elko. He could be great. Might lay an egg. As we've seen, just because you have skins, doesn't mean you'll win in the future. There is a fine line between a Jimbo rehash and a young up and comer. All younger guys are likely going to have less skins so you are hoping for a young guy with very early success. Whether a young guy with early success or an old established guy with a history of success, none of it guarantees a future outcome. So I'm in a wait and see place.
For contracts, being realistic, I'd think 3 years guaranteed, 6M annually, with 4M for every game played in the post season (including SEC Champ game).
I'd like to go smaller annual and bigger incentives but I don't think its realistic to go smaller annually.
