I think this says it all about the defense.......“That was a buildup from most of the year,” linebacker Taurean York said. “We weren’t tackling.......

You can coach 'kids' up and they can play well especially at times but if they do not play as a team, maintain assignments, and be under control to tackle, it all falls apart. It did last night with the defense. They has been lack of containment, not shutting down the edge, pressuring players in the back field but letting them get out, etc. all year long. Defenders around receivers but not in position to tackle. That is cornerback and safety 101 but there has been consistent 'not in position to make a play' ....play by CBs and Safeties. Overall, it was somewhat worse the last game UNTIL Elko made adjustments at the half and the players came out and played great defense. We have seen that correction at the half all year long until last night, THE players never corrected their poor tackling, their rushing the QB at full speed like a bull in the Mexican arena, and the front 7 containing the line. Defensively correctable and winnable and the players never played like a team but like individuals. It cost the Ags a game.

Offense, really do not know where the problem is. OL can rush block but they got behind last night and never got consistent to keep drives going. Last night Reed has some time to throw and showed his best passing performance but too often was pressured and SC was looking for him to run. Saw more receivers having a chance but again inconsistent. Is it an OL issue, a Klien issue, or not enough talent. Game after game, inconsistent play and often hurt by penalties.

Penalties! Elko need to start laying down some penalties for stupid penalties.
