Four days after his disappearance, the body of a missing kayaker was found Wednesday morning in the Trinity River in Fort Worth.
Someone who lived nearby reported the body that authorities believe is Edgar Castro around 8 a.m. in the 4100 block of Idlewood Drive, said Lt. Kyle Falkner, a spokesman for the Fort Worth Fire Department.
Falkner said the cause of death is unknown and will have to be determined by the medical examiner. Authorities will continue to investigate, he said.
Castro was kayaking on the river with a friend on Saturday when both of their boats capsized. The friend swam to shore, but Castro never resurfaced.
Fire officials found another body in the Trinity River Tuesday while searching for Castro. No information has been released about the person’s identity or cause of death.
