Yeah, and if you check out who owns the SEC's All Sports Trophies,
you'll find that ain't all that UF is better than aTm at.

In fact, you should review the last 29 consecutive Top 10 finishers
for the National All Sports Trophy, known as the Directors Cup.

UF 20 - 17 @ aTm,,,, so much for the ninnies that make up the twelfth sissies....
roll.r191677.gif

And our 3 Heisman QB's didn't have to sell their sigs for to get their beer/party money....

However, it looks to me like in-FAMOUS Shamous was able to make JF look a bit cleaner...
Making me believe that the Heisman no longer has a 'character' component to it...
Apparently on the field football talent is all that it takes, and both certainly have that much.

JMOHO's of course.

Re: What gave it away for you?

" Florida Bball is much better than Aggie Bball"

Was it the UF 34 - 17 aTm at the half that did it for you?
3dgrin.r191677.gif

Or was it the UF 35 - 19 second half that turned on the lights?

UF 69 - 36 aTm

Rebound Margin UF 57 - 27 aTm for a +30 in rebounds.

While the Gator's defense held aTm to 26% shooting.

With about 6 minutes left in the game, BillyD started putting in the walk-ons....
Otherwise, it could have been much worse.

“Florida's a great defensive team,” Texas A&M coach Billy Kennedy said.

“We had our opportunities early to score, but not many. When we had our

opportunities to make free throws and lay-ups, we couldn't score,

but Florida had a lot to do with it.”

But hey, don't feel to bad, you're not alone on UF's Hit-List:

#3 UF 19-2, 8-0 SEC:

On a 13 game win streak, and a 27 game Home Win Streak.
smokin.r191677.gif

(ho-hum on your 12th man Kyle Field -- UF 20 - 17 aTm)

Can any of your teams play defense, or was that not taught in the
ole Big 12/whatever?

#3 UF 23-2, 12-0 SEC, with the Regular Season SEC Championship likely in da-bag.

A 1-Seed is also Likely.

They are on a 17 game win streak, and a 29 game home win
streak.

oth of those streaks are UF School Records BTW.

Re: SEC Player of the Week named....

UF 67 - 58 UT -- UF 69 - 59 UK -- Florida came into the game against UK as

a two-and-a-half to three-point underdog at Rupp Arena. Sorry Cal-lie
02

Florida senior PG Scottie Wilbekin was named SEC player of the week, the

league announced Monday. Wilbekin, a 6-foot-2, 176-pounder from The Rock

school in Gainesville, won after averaging 22 pts, 4 asts, 3 rbs and 2.5 stls in

wins at Tenn and at 14th-ranked UK. Wilbekin's 21 pts against Tenn on Tues.

were a career-high before he topped it with his 23-point performance at Rupp

on Sat. He dished 8 asts and recorded ZERO turnovers in 71 minutes of action

this week. Wilbekin went an impressive 21-of-24 (88%) from the charity stripe,

including a notable 18-of-20 in the 2nd half. While 16 of the 22 points he

averaged on the week came in the 2nd half. A local Gainesville 2-3 star Sr player

is sometimes better than a MickyD AA, and is always better for a 'team' than a

selfish 1&done athlete is. These are the kinds of players that really show the

true talent level of a coach like Billy-D
01

If Wilbekin didn't get it, then Prather would have imoho. Prather, came into

the UK game leading the SEC in field-goal percentage (61.2%), finished 8 of 9

from the floor and 8 of 12 from the FT line (24 pts). He also came up with 2 of

his 4 rebounds in big spots. One came on a defensive rebound with 1:08 left

and another on an offensive rebound with 1:23 remaining. On the offensive

rebound, 6-6 Prather out jumped and was then fouled (mugged) by the 4 cats

that were surrounding him, and made 1 of 2 FT's to extend UF's lead to 65-59.

And the Gator's finally came through as a team at the FT line at Rupp, 22 of 29

(78.6%). In their road wins over Tenn and UK, UF is 78% (39-50) from the FT line.

LAS VEGAS ? No. 1 Florida 11-0 completed a perfect weekend at the

Easton Desert Classic on Sunday, defeating No. 24 Minnesota 15-2 (6 innings).

The #1 Lady Gator's won at the Easton Desert Classic by a 5 game combined

score of 59-6.

------------------------

The #20 Men's Baseball team finished off their season opening 3 game series

with Maryland on Sunday with an 8-5 win, going 2-1 for the series.

How about you let me know how many of your 20-something sports teams have
rankings that are in the Top 5 in the Nation, in football, or in any other sport that
your school sponsors, in or out of SEC competion?

#1 Gators Women's Softball continues to blow-out their opponents.
#1 Gator Women's Gymnastice continues to roll with another perfect 10, (vault).

#1 M-Swimming-Diving

#2 M-Track-Indoor

#2 Gator Men's B-Ball moves up to #2 in the AP Poll, with road wins @ UT & UK.

~ PG Wilbekin received SEC PoW as his accolades continued to pile up later Mon.

afternoon, when Wilbekin was named as one of 23 finalists for the Bob Cousy Award,

given to the nation's top college point guard.
#4 W-Lacrosse, Gilroy was named the ALC Offensive PoW.

#4 W-Track-Indoor

#5 W-Tennis

==============

Others with rankings include:

#7 W-Volleyball

#8 W-Swimming-Diving

#10 W-Soccer

#12 M-Tennis

#16 W-Golf

#20 Gator Baseball team has moved up 3 spots from preseason #23.

#26 M-Golf

So, is aTm just another One-Pony Show, Tex Football factory, or a successful
Total Sports Program???

PS -- (Will's 3rd Top #6 Recruiting Class (4-2-6) put any fires out)

maybe you should consider not drawing so much attention to your own,,,

Re: Hey cat-rammer,,,, moving right along....

UF 71 - 66 AU -- Fr MickyD AA PG K.Hill is out with a groin injury from UK.
Against AU, it was C Patric Young's night: 17 pts, 7 rbs, 3 asts, 2 blks,

and 3 for 3 from the FT line in the critical final minute of the game. It

seems like every game, it's a different Gator stepping up to help the 'team'
get the win.

Young is only a 57% FT shooter, but he went 7 of 9 (78%) vs AU.

2. UF 24-2, 13-0 SEC (while Syracuse lost to unranked BC - 1. UF???)

Current Gator Streaks:

13 Consecutive SEC Wins

18 Consecutive Overall Wins

30 Consecutive Home Wins
14

761 Consecutive Games with at least one 3 pointer.
smokin.r191677.gif

C Patric Young is up for the Senior CLASS award in Men's B-Ball.
P Hanna Rogers has been nominated for the W-Softball CLASS award.

Rogers is a 3x AA and has 100+ wins as a Gator, is 4-0 in 2014.

The Gator's Sr C Patric Young received an honor off the court on Thursday

when he was named to Capital One's Academic All-America team.

Already a 2x SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year, Young maintains a
3.37 GPA at UF in Telecommunications. He's on track to earn his degree
in May.

I wonder when the last time, if ever, either kensucky or Cal-Cheat had a

player named an Academic AA or SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year?

For right now, Gator PG Scottie Wilbekin is the odds on favorite for being

named the SEC Basketball Player of the Year. Against other SEC teams:

Stats - 14.7 ppg, 3.4 asts, 40.7% 3pt, 80% FT's and he is the center

of attraction for one of the best defenses in the SEC and in the Nation.

------------

~ #1 Gator Softball (12-0) is set to host the upcoming Lipton Invitational.

--------------

~ UF Swimming & Diving teams add SEC Titles.

ATHENS, Ga. ? The top-ranked Florida men jumped into 1st place in the

overall standings after 2 more individual wins on the 3rd day of competition

at the SEC Championships. The Gator women earned their 1st 2 SEC

Championships of the meet, and stand in 2nd place out of the 12-team field.

The UF Men have captured 7 out of a possible 9 swimming championships so

far, which is two more than the reigning conference champions had in 2013.

The Gators executed in prelims and put 10 men in the 'A' final and 5 women

in the 'A' finals on day three.

Vandy had won 4 of their last 5 in Memorial Gym against #1 Ranked teams....

It's a VERY tough place to play,,,, but NO WIN for them this time around!
tongue.r191677.gif

The Gators (26-2, 15-0 SEC) won their 20th straight and clinched a share of the SEC

regular season title. Florida can clinch the SEC crown outright with either a UK loss

Thursday night against Ark or a win Saturday at home against LSU.

Sixth-Man SF Fenny-Smith was just 1 of 26 from the arc, but with 30 seconds left in

the game, he drained a clutch 3 pointer to give UF the final winning margin. But why

would he take that kind of shot at such a critical time in a game? "My teammates did

a great job," Finney-Smith said. "They kept telling me to shoot it. I got shots up after

practice with Scottie, Frazier, Pat. Everybody just kept telling me to shoot. You can

shoot, but shoot the ball with confidence. Every time I was left open, I shot it."

Being better than an aTm ugliee is not really much of a brag, but right now, sitting
at #1 in the Nation, according to the voters in the AP and the Coaches polls.
While also having a 1 Seed for the Big Dance, makes UF is better than every
other D-1 in the entire Nation.

In Review so far:

UF is FIRST EVER in the SEC to go 18-0 in the Regular Season.
Regular Season Champs in 3 of the last 4 seasons.

UF then went 3-0 to become the SEC Tourney Champ.

Gone to the Elite 8 for the last 3 Consecutive Years.
Gone to the Sweet 16 for the last 4 Consecutive Years, so far.

In Gator lore, the B-2-B NC's are called the Oh-4's, (arrived in 2004).
This group of Sr's are now being called the Perfect Ten's (2010).

They are the ONLY team in SEC History to go a perfect 21-0 in SEC play.

UF 61 - 45 Pittsburgh (+16) ----- UW 85 - 77 Oregon (+8)

UF 79 - 68 UCLA (+11) ------------ UW 69 - 57 Baylor (+12)

UF 62 - 52 Dayton (+10) ---------- UW 64 - 63 Arizona (+1)

Average Score 67 - 55 (+12) -- Average Score 73 - 58 (+15)

UC 60 - 54 Mich State (+6) ----- UK 75 - 72 Michigan (+3)

Average Score 77 - 69 (+8) --- UK 71 - 67 (+4)

Trivia - UF is the only Final-4 team to have already played the other

3 Final-4 teams during the regular season, going 3-2 against them.

3-0 with a full roster. 1-0 at home. 2-2 away.

UF 53 - 59 @ UW (-6) (suspension/injury - only 6 scholarship players even made the trip)

UF 64 - 65 @ UC (-1) (Wilbekin injured out -ankle- with 3:23 to go, his man shot the buzzer beater)

UF 69 - 59 UK - @ UK Senior Day (+10)

UF 84 - 65 UK - @ UF Senior Day (+19)

UF 61 - 60 UK SEC Tourney in Atlanta (+1)

Beating UK for a 4th time in a season doesn't really appeal to me.

However, avenging their only 2 losses of the season really DOES appeal to me.

Why did UF play 11 Seed Dayton in the Elite Eight?

Because over-rated 2 Seed Cans-azz had already been flushed by

Pac 12, 10 Seed Stanford. (besides - UF 67-61 KU Dec 10th)

So UF wins the S. Div. with their 4 double digit victories.

Why does UF play 7 Seed U-Conn in the Final 4?

Because over-rated 3 Seed Iowa State has already been flushed

by the East Div. winner, 7 Seed U-Conn

And if UF makes the NC game, why won't they be playing

some other OVER-RATED Big12 team?

Because:

In the West Division:

5 Seed OK got flushed by freakin' 12 Seed N.D.-State
08

6 Seed Baylor got flushed by 2 Seed Wis

9 Seed Ok-St got flushed by 8 Seed Gonzaga

And in the Midwest Division:

7 Seed Tx got flushed by 2 Seed Michigan (UK 75-72 Mich)

9 Seed K-St got flushed by 8 Seed UK-SEC

The Big (over-rated) Twelve's 3 best teams were ALL
flush.r191677.gif

from the Dance, by lower seeded tournament teams.

The 'weak' SEC had 3 teams in the Sweet 16 and 2 of the Final Four.

I wonder what would have happened,,, IF the SEC was any good?
nerd.r191677.gif

The Big Twelve/10 had ZERO teams of 7 make it to the Elite Eight.

Now all of the big12's 'weak sister - bottom feeders' have gone home.
Does the NCAA Committee or any media-moron still want to claim that
the SEC was weak, and that the Big 12 was the toughest conf in B-Ball?

"The best, of the Best, of the BEST,,, SIR." MiB

Suggestion: The Big Twelve/10 should replace Mizzou with Mizzou-St,

B-Ball Trivia:

The 'WEAK' SEC vs The Mighty Big Twelve/10:

In the last 10 years, there have been 4 instances of 2 teams from the
same conference in the Final Four. They are:

SEC: 2 (2006-14)
BE: 1 (2009)
Big Ten/12: 1 (2005)
ACC: 0
B12: 0 (that ZERO is the same number that made the Elite 8 in 2014)

I remember another time when 2 SEC teams were in the Final Four (1994).
It was UF's first trip, back when Lon Kruger was coach, and Nolan Richardson
was at Arkansas with his 40 Minutes of Hell. The Piggies went on to win it all.

Seems to me that UF now plays something similar to that '40 Minutes of
Hell'
style of ball, wearing the other team down, or 'grinding it out' as they
say, with a heavy use of the press and a never let up 'team' defense...

* Also During the BCS Era, only one conference had 2 teams in the same
BCS-NC game, the SEC with Bama vs LSU. (SEC went 9-1 in BCS-NC)

The Gators' 30-game win streak is the longest single-season win streak
in SEC History
, surpassing #2 Kentucky's 27-game streak during the 1995-96
season. LSU's 26-game win streak during the 1980-81 season ranks third.

Nice Company: UF is only the 3rd team to win 4 games en route to Final 4
by double digits while holding each opponent to less than 70 pts, joining
MichSt (2000) and Duke (1999).

2014 NCAA Tourney Win $Money$ Units:
The SEC already has 11 units (wins) with just 3 teams (so far). Of which
aTm and Mizzou will get their 'equal shares' instead of getting stiffed...
nerd.r191677.gif

The Big Twelve/10 only got 6 Units with 7 teams and they're already gonzo.

Gator Coach Billy Donovan is 35 -11 (.761) in the NCAA Tournaments,
for #2 in the Nation among all 'active' coaches. #1 is .003 better at .764.
Oh BTW, both are 2014 Final 4 coaches in the 'weak' SEC.....

BillyD is also #1 in SEC History for Total NCAA Tourney Wins (35).
~ Number 2 is Kentucky's Adoff Rupp with 30 Tourney Wins.

Have a nice day...
