Flying home from Atlanta yesterday and randomly opened the FMIPhone app while in flight. (Phone in airplane mode.) As expected, nothing was updating (phones, watches, AirTags), except…AirPods were tracking. Lost the signal once or twice, but pretty much able to track current location the entire flight.
How does the locator on these things work? Why did the AirPods locate while nothing else did? Is this normal?
