Elko's 1st Year at Duke.....

In his first season as head coach at Duke University, Mike Elko led the Blue Devils to a 9-4 record:

Regular season: Duke finished the regular season with a 9-4 record.
Bowl game: The Blue Devils won the Military Bowl against UCF, the program's first bowl game appearance since 2018.
ACC Coach of the Year: Elko was named the 2022 ACC Coach of the Year.

Elko's first season at Duke was marked by a number of improvements, including:

Defense
Duke gave up 120.9 yards per game and 10 touchdowns on the ground, the only school in the ACC to allow 10 or fewer rushing touchdowns.
Offensive line
Duke's offensive line ranked 12th among Power 5 schools for sacks allowed per game.
Turnaround
Duke's 2022 record was a plus-six improvement from 2021, the second-best turnaround in ACC history.
Rankings
Duke's scoring offense and defense moved from 102nd and 127th nationally to 31st in both categories.

Elko left Duke to become the head coach at Texas A&M in November 2023.
