Here's why:
1. He's an elite recruiter. Mark said maybe the best in the country. If you want to win championships you have to have elite players. E-Rob can get them.
2. We could have won 10 or more this year. We are not that far off, with a little more player motivation and limiting of mistakes we could have won 2 or 3 more games at least. E-Rob could keep most of the staff intact, which keeps us from having to learn new systems. We can be ready to roll right off the bat and pick up where we left off, but better without Jimbo interfering.
3. He must have shown something that made Bjork trust him over Petrino or Durkin, or Addaizo who all have experience as HCs.
4. There's no assimilation phase, where the new guy has to get used to A&M and A&M has to get used to the new guy. Everybody has been rowing the same boat for a few years already so that erases the time to figure each other out.
5. I already love the speech he gave to his players about the brotherhood. That's what they need to believe to play for each other and be all in. I think he gets it and he helps the players get it too.
So, if the best recruiter in the country can get an already competent staff to tweak a few improvements and get a stacked roster to lay it all on the line for each other, the sky is the limit.
