I used to say that dry January was for quitters, but I found myself needing to reset my relationship with alcohol if I want to continue to be able to drink.
A couple of thoughts 2 weeks in…
- it’s not as hard as I thought it would be
- never had “withdrawal” symptoms, but I thought about drinking a lot, particularly the first week. I think for me, my drinking has been mostly habitual, if that makes sense
- it gets easier to longer you go without
-I have a lot more energy and am not as tired, sleep is better
- I feel less anxious
Any one else doing dry January this year?
