Back to back title games that were very good. Easy to argue that a playoff provides a better game than the bowl championship series.

UCF muddies the water a little with that win over Auburn. Auburn was the loss for both CFP title participants. UCF would not survive a full season of SEC ball, but their effort furthers the momentum toward an expanded playoff. BTW, Scott Frost has some coaching chops.

Defense matters more than a Senior, Heisman winning QB. But just barely. OU does not get near the playoff without Mayfield. It will be interesting to see how OU fares next year with the midget.

Freshman QB’s are no longer a liability. Yes, they make mistakes, but you can get to the championship with them. Provided your defense is badass.

It is clear that you need a scheme and WR’s that can take the top off a Defense. This is why Starkel gets the initial nod next fall IMHO. The long ball on top of a solid to great run game is the key.

Fromm looked like an NFL QB at times last night. At other times, his accuracy left him. I thought that ball to Hardman in the 3rd quarter was the game winner. What a throw. He could become a game changer if Georgia can ride his arm in big moments. They did not seem to have the confidence to air it out in the 4th quarter when running room became tight.

Georgia played the best heading into the game and clearly were the better team in the first half. Tua was clearly the difference in the game. Unbelievable that his spark carried Bama to the win. His long balls were just as good as Fromm’s. What a story. That guy will be hard to play against the next couple of years.

Here’s to the offseason. May Jimbo make us relevant again.
